“Pleasant”
The best

1. location - quiet part of the village as far as possible from the main road, few steps away from the trailheads, bakery + pub less than a minute walk away 2. more spatious than a hotel room, enough storage space 3. fully furnished kitchen + washing machine 4. parking space in underground garage as well as outside the building 5. clean 6. communication with owner easy via WhatsApp (he writes decent English)

To be improved

two significant negatives from our point of view: 1. the hot water tank had a capacity of 50L only. This was just about enough for two quick showers. If you like a soothing soak after a whole day walking - that’s not going to happen. 2. no internet. The choices included data roaming (not the most economical option with a new zealand sim-card) or catching a free wifi outside the local library (in rain!)
