Old. Dirty. Dark and absolutely packed with dusty stuff that you do not need on your holiday. On our first afternoon we were welcomed by cockroaches the size of small mice and I can't describe the heat inside the house. No AC. During the night, when it was cool outside, we opened every window and even bought extra ventilators ourselves to try and get the hot air out of the house and let the cool air in but nothing worked, it was well over 30 degrees inside during the nights and you could see the dust flying into your lungs. We tried sleeping on the terrace, but were yet again welcomed by cockroaches. It felt like a heattrap, as if we were the first to open some doors in months. "Yes but it can be hot in Spain", which is of course true. But that's no excuse if you want to run something like this. We went to friends who have a similar house and the difference in temperature because of some easy adjustments were amazing. Somebody had an old house and the idea to make some money, and that's understandable, but than take this endeavour seriously and make sure your guests have a comfortable stay. In this case, they did not and however this might be fun for some guests, or maybe it works in winter, but for us it ruined our nights. We found something else for 50 bucks more, with wifi, a seaview and AC, and thankfully that made us leave Spain in good spirits.

“Absolute Bargain of a stay”

The best

The property was in the centre and plenty of parking. The road system is dire (thanks to the Mayor) but once we has sussed it out it was fine. The property was huge and Vicente was brilliant. No issues at all and really incredibly cheap.

The best

Our hosts could not be more accommodating. Lovely traditional Spanish home with cute terrace for al fresco dining. Great shower.

To be improved

Property location meant there was street noise. You might need earplugs if you are a light sleeper. This was not the fault of the home owners. More kitchen equipment is needed unless you eat out at night (only one small saucepan could be found) but we managed.

“Lovely”

it was a traditional Spanish Orba house, very beautiful we enjoyed breakfast under the lemon tree in the patio our kids loved being there, felt right at home the house was complete our host was very welcoming and friendly, we arrived very late but she still met us at the house and made sure we were comfortable

the duration of our vacation, next time we will be staying longer
