Room Mate Leo, Granada

We stayed 4 nights over the Christmas days in the Room Mate Leo. I only know the Room Mate Hotel Aitana in Amsterdam which is fantastic. We booked a (or the only?) Junior Suite. The hotel entrance was moved it seems and the hotel is located in two buildings it seems. The check in was great, the staff is great in this hotel. The room is located somewhere between buildings and it basically has no windows. Only a small private patio where little light arrives in the room. Apart from that the room was spacious and comfortable. After our terrible stay in the Hotel Catalonia in Ronda (see the review for details), at least we thought this room must be at least quiet. But far from that. Rolling sounds like big rolling pallet carts and a noisy door that shuts after squeaking with a bang. We informed the reception, but we were told there is not other room of this size available. The sounds ended around 21:00 so it was okay for sleeping, but around 8:00 in the morning they started again. After looking around is must the supermarket Carrefour Express that is located in the next building. We stayed all four nights and told the staff again for check out. But no reaction, a little sorry but that's it. We will never stay in this hotel again. On the last day I checked up the pool area on the roof where you can see rooms below with a terrace. But man, it is very noisy up here. So at least we were happy not to ask for a room change this time. I would expect some form of sorry, compensation or something for being offered a let's called it strange Junior Suite. I would expect that more expensive rooms offer a better experience than normal rooms, not being stuffed in the basement. In summer this little patio could be "cool", but in winter it just add to the limited daylight experience. I hope the other rooms are nicer, but we won't come back to try this hotel again. The trust in room mate hotels got a hit, but I can still recommend the one in Amsterdam :) ... unless you ask at the hotel for a taxi to the Centraal station and the taxi driver gets pissed for the short ride and wants you to pay a large amount of money (that we simply didn't do...what a d.ck)!

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff (especially Will and the breakfast server). Clean and well presented room and bathroom. Superb continental breakfast along with gluten free option. Great communication from hotel before and during our stay.

I am very fussy when it comes to city hotels. Room Mate Leo is AMAZING. Breakfast buffet offering was excellent, although my advice would be only book it if you are prepared to eat your money's worth, it is worth it if you're hungry. Pool is amazing, and the honesty bar is a great facility. Excellent value for money, magnificently clean and the staff are lovely. 100% would recommend.

We enjoyed a full weekend in Room Mate Leo in Granada. We got 2 rooms and staff arranged rooms next to each other. There is a 24 hours reception. Everybody is super helpful. Rafa is amazing! We enjoyed the breakfast, also there very attentive and pleasant staff. The pool on the roof with it's outstanding views on the Alhambra, Granada and the Sierra Nevada where breath taking!
