“Nice but not great”
The hotel is in a great location, no doubt about that. The lobby is a bit dark all painted black. The front desk staff was very friendly & helpful as were the cleaning staff, checking with us if we needed anything. The corridors are a little like a rabbit warren, quite dark & low ceilings. A bit of a hostel vibe. The room was small, and a bit smelly so we needed to have the windows open the whole time, the sink/hand basin was actually located in the bedroom. When showering the water came out of the shower every time, soaking the bath mat & other towels & the drain cover was loose. The wardrobe doors were constantly sliding open. It needs a bit of a refresh but it’s ok, great location.
“Elegance, at a great location”
It is one of my standard choices when visiting Madrid; a small hotel, on a quiet street (not common in central Madrid), just off Teatro Real and Metro Opera. I have stayed in various sizes rooms and it’s worth opting for a front side one (Executive is a good choice, in this regard), as the smaller are mostly on the back side of the building, thus quite dark and viewless. But all of them are comfortable and elegant, in an unconventional witty design and with attention to detail. The buffet breakfast is nicely presented and freshly prepared, but it lacks variety -while the service has always been genuinely caring and effective.
“Great hotel”
A lovey quiet hotel, with very friendly staff would definitely recommend this as the place to stay in Madrid. Will definitely come back here
“An average hotel in a great area of Madrid”
Given how many great reviews it has, I really wanted to love this hotel. But while the stay was okay, it didn’t quite live up to what I’d anticipated. The room itself was nice enough - nothing special, but clean and comfortable. However, the soundproofing left a lot to be desired. Conversations in the hallway outside were so loud through the day and night. All sorts of noises from neighbouring rooms were also audible throughout the night. Service was mixed. Some staff were very friendly, warm, and welcoming. Others were less so. A big positive aspect was the location - the hotel’s proximity to so many of major sights is hard to beat. Personally, I’d stay elsewhere next time I’m in Madrid. The room rate was good, but the stay here was just average.
“Great location, staff and breakfast. Room so and so”
Great location, breakfast, staff
The room is too small. The bathroom also, the sink is outside of the bathroom and there is too noise because the door of the room doesn't is enough to protect from the noise in the hall.
“Smiles”
Very good location. Good staff. Safe for family holiday.
Nothing in particular. Happy stay
