“Adequate . Not all that is listed on booking.com is actually here”
It was in a queit location
The beds were very firm, and the pillows were awful. The shower needs attention it leaks over the top, and not much comes through the shower head. The water gets very hot very fast. Don't flush if someone's in the shower. Water pressure is good if only one thing is running. The appliances are older and damaged but still work. The kitchen cooking utensils were very small. There is NO Seaview. There is no BBQ. The driveway is narrow and a tight fit if you have a midsize car. There were no toiletries. There are no sunsets to see. The house faces northeast. The closest mecardo / bar is a 5 min dive uphill behind the bus stop. The one closer is permanently closed. The list of languages spoken said English. We were only spoken to in Spanish via message on WhatsApp and had to translate each one.
“Very good”
The terras, the views, the stillness, the stars, the outside shower :) Spacious and very traditional (back in time). The restaurant prisma in Alojera beach ! best fish of la gomera :) . only open evenings and not on Wednesday. Nice bar Los choros de epina (15 min drive) : best coffee . Host was nice and concerned that all was good. Washing machine.
It is very remote. (which is positive and negative) Love the stillness and view. Don't like the drive every time .... a lot of driving. The beach (black rocks) in Alojera is stunning but not very accessible. A lot ( a lot) of wind but soo beautiful. Come for the sunset. For a beach / swimming you need to go the Vale gran Rey or further (min 40 min drive) . When first arrived: a bit of a shock with the traditional house and all the family stuff that is still in it. It really is a nice place but it would be much nicer to take al the personal things out of the house. We got used to it and falt sad to leave the place.
“Lovely house with beautiful sunsets in an authentic village”
Very comfortable and lovely house in a small authentic village. Kitchen had a lot of stuff for cooking, we missed nothing. We got a nice welcome with fruits, marmelades, almogrote, water, beer, wine and so much more.
“Good”
The kitchen is not so spacious as it looks on the pictures.
“Exceptional”
It is nice and spacious house in the small village of Alojera. It was tidy and ready for our arrival and host was nice to let us leave a bit later - we also got a small welcome gift. We had no problems with communication and getting a keys (it is mentioned in last comment but seems was fixed). It has a nice terrace with spacious tables ideal for having meals. We were just 4 there but I believe it can easily fit more and we worked remotely from there for over a week, it is possible but network is not the fastest in world (but hey :) you are on the small island in the village) Around there are palms, some hill paths for more adventurous ones and it takes 15min to get to the sea shore (but no swimmable beach there), also lots of cats :).
We haven't noticed big downsides but kitchen could be slightly standarized in terms of equipment. Not relevant to the property: Keep in mind that place is a small village: small shop/bar and restaurant, plus roads are very curvy (but beautiful) and it takes time go to around.
“We have plenty of good reasons to come back again!”
Perfect location for those who seek for secluded places and do not like mass tourism. A very quiet place at the dead end of the street, where the only friends were 7 cats (always ready to eat canned pet food and drink milk). The accommodation is equipped with everything one may need for a comfortable stay, the kitchen has all the necessary equipment for basic cooking and plenty of plates, glasses, cutlery, some spices, oil, etc. Our host surprised us with a bottle of wine, fresh mangoes, and beer in the fridge. A great advantage was the possibility to check-in until 12pm. Comfortable beds, the backyard, and cleanliness were just the cherry on the cake.
A bit complicated communication with the host who speaks only Spanish, hence making a call on arrival (almost in the middle of the night) to obtain the required code number for the key box was entirely useless (at least for us). Fortunately, the host organized a neighbour to arrive in a few minutes and open the box (which of course is something you can't expect if you don't understand a word in Spanish, no matter how many times the host tries to tell you). Not relevant to the property and/or the host - shopping for food in Alojera is a real challenge.
