“A Perfect Family-Friendly Haven – We'll Definitely Be Back!”
As first-time parents of a 2-year-old, we were nervous about finding a hotel where we could truly relax without worrying about judgmental looks when our son had a meltdown, made a mess, or got a bit noisy. This hotel exceeded all our expectations and put every worry to rest. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely welcome. Highchairs were offered immediately at every restaurant, nappy bins were conveniently located in dedicated areas, and the thoughtful touches were everywhere. Our son has a severe egg allergy, and the team went above and beyond - offered custom menus and clear allergen information with simple graphic images showing egg, dairy, soy, at food statins. It made dining stress-free and safe for him. The food was absolutely amazing! The themed nights added an extra layer of excitement to our evenings, and the omelette station at breakfast was always my morning go to. The restaurant staff were wonderful and always made our son Joel feel special—those little gestures meant the world to us. We opted for half board, which worked perfectly for us—we ate well at breakfast and dinner, and simply picked up some bread from the local shop across the road for a midday snack. Since we don't drink much, this was also more cost-effective. The beach is stunning, and sun beds are available at Ses Garces, which also serves delicious food. Often, we would just park up with towels by the sea edge. We stayed in a Hooky Royal Pool View room on the first floor. I was initially concerned about being on the first floor assuming I'd get little view of the pool, but I was completely wrong - it was fantastic! I could see my wife and son playing in the pool from the balcony, which was a lovely bonus. A huge shout-out to the kids' club staff! We usually joined with our son for activities to get out of the sun, but we were so impressed by how attentive and caring they were with all the children, especially those who were dropped off. It's a tough job, and they did it brilliantly. We can't comment much on the nighttime entertainment since our son was in bed early, but it looked fantastic from what we saw. We're looking forward to experiencing it properly on our next visit! While our stay was fantastic, here are a couple of small suggestions that might enhance the experience for future guests: - We discovered helpful facilities like nappy bins and water stations during our stay, which were brilliant. It would be great to receive a simple information sheet at check-in highlighting these family-friendly features so guests can make use of them from day one. - I had requested a top-floor room in the booking notes, which wasn't mentioned at check-in. While I know requests aren't always guaranteed, a quick acknowledgment - even just to explain availability would be appreciated. That said, I'm probably being a bit picky here, and our first-floor room turned out to be wonderful anyway! Final Thoughts: This hotel felt like a home away from home. We're not usually the type to visit the same place twice - we love trying new destinations, but we've already booked to return in 2026 for 9 nights instead of 7. If you're looking for a relaxed, understanding, and supportive environment with guaranteed great service, this is the place for you. Highly recommended for families!
“An excellent choice for families!”
We visited as a family with our 2 year old daughter in mid September. I had read lots of very positive reviews prior to booking the hotel & I have to say I was not disappointed. The hotel has thought of almost everything you would need with children. The animation team are very engaging and the activities on offer are excellent. Our daughter loved the pony trek and the mini disco each evening. The shows were of a good standard - especially the Disney show which my daughter (and all the other children) loved. The whole hotel is kept very clean and well maintained. It is clear that the staff work very hard and everyone we engaged with was friendly and welcoming. The table service at the shows in the evening is definitely better the closer to the bar you get however, the menu is extensive and very well priced. We found the food of excellent quality and never struggled for anything to eat. The cooking stations and themed evenings were well thought out and all enjoyed. My daughter (and I!) loved the ice cream on offer every dinner and the plastic cutlery, plates etc on offer for her were much appreciated. We never had a problem with sunbeds even at midday and found that only a handful of people bothered to reserve beds at all. The walkway to the beach is a little tricky underfoot but once there the beach is beautiful. The sea is very clear and shallow and we all felt perfectly safe for many metres out! There are two supermarkets and a car hire shop directly opposite the hotel which is very handy. Both supermarkets are well stocked. The hire car company accommodated us with a car the next day with a complimentary car seat. We visited the local zoo which was a lovely way to spend an afternoon out. Our room was a 2 bedroom Cuqui (we emailed the hotel ahead to update from one to two bed) and there was ample room for the three of us. The rooms are not the most modern but they are light, with plenty of storage and comfy beds. In summary we absolutely cannot fault this hotel & will be looking to return next year. Well done Royal Son Bou! Keep up the good work! Ps: If I could offer one improvement it would be to consider offering a drinks service around the main pool. For us, it was the only thing really missing.
“Not so good as people say”
The staff is very nice, specially at the restaurants and the animation team, however the hotel in October is focused on the german tourist onlyu which means that you can have dinner from 6 untill 8pm, or until 9pm. Latins leave the beach by 7 or 8pm, so for us it was terrible, having to rush everything with the so we could have meal that was already paid. The restaurants lack basic kids food like burguers, but always have sausages (it must be for germans clients). At 10pm everything is dead and closed. Not even music you can hear at the Bar. The hotel focus on children indeed, but they could have a sports bar for parents to enjoy themselfs too! The all inclusive is not that inclusive at all! From such a large list of ice creams, kids get to choose 6 of them, pizzas you can pay a la carte, pastas as well. Drink on the bar are made careless, and so on. I will not return.
“Fantastic Family Holiday”
We had a fantastic week at the Royal Son Bou. This hotel is perfect for young families with so much for kids to do. My son loved the kids club area and asked to go everyday. The pools were beautiful and my son also loved the kids pool with the pirate ship and slides. The food was fantastic definitely one of the best all inclusives we've been to with fresh Italian pizza fresh risottos and paella every day cooking stations etc lots of fresh fish and meat and was all lovely and hot and very tasty (we've been to many where food can be bland and cold) we were very impressed. Staff were amazing so friendly and welcoming and went out of there way to greet you and interact with you restaurant staff especially i thought worked very very hard. Resort is very clean and rooms are cleaned every day cleaners are great. Rooms very comfortable and beds lovely we slept very well. The hotel has also thought of many little things to make your holiday easier like chromecast in rooms, water stations around the hotel, high chairs and cots included, booster seats in restaurant and children's equipment and plates for meals. Nappy change in toilets in main area and kids club. Also direct access to beach which is great under the tunnel. We also did the pony riding with the kids club which was super special thank you and was free of charge. We had an amazing week and would definitely return thank you.
“Quiet, hilly resort, not for those with mobilty issues.”
The apartment living area was quite small, bedroom and bathroom fine, be warned there are lots of steps and slopes in and around resort. Unfortunately I didn't read the resort info fully or I wouldn't have booked because of poor mobility. Area has little to offer except a lovely beach, however it is quite rocky. Meals well breakfast was okay & you could get a take away box for bits to take to beach or wherever. We were half board and evening meals weren't very nice. Pool area was nice also had a baby pool nothing much for older kids though, certainly not what I would class as a family club except for small children. All areas were kept clean, drinking water was available from water fountains around the pool. Entertainment was ok and staff were generally nice. There was easy access to a local bus . We used bus to go to both ends of the Island very easy to use but not very regular, every hour on average. Not a place I would return to as too quiet for me, lacking anything of interest locally. Quite expensive for half board we paid probably £200 more than AI in Majorca recently.
