The staff allowed early check-in and luggage deposit, indicating good service.
While there were drawbacks, the positive aspects created a largely favorable experience.
Quiet and central location.
The kitchen was noted as nice.
The overall value reflects the location and service despite some issues.
The small bedroom was cramped due to the large bed and lacked storage.
“Lovely authentic old town with great access directly into the mountains...”
We rented the house for 2 weeks, right through the Christmas and New Year period. The house was lovely, very clean and well presented, with all the mod cons you could hope for in a rental property. In this location you could not be any closer to the main square, shops and tram line down to Port de Sóller (less then 2 minutes walk). Although so close to the centre of Sóller, it was surprisingly quiet. Port de Sóller is lovely with a nice beach, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, we walked from Sóller which takes about 45 minutes or caught the Tram. The Port gets the best of the evening sunshine, we dined out down there a few times, it was great right next to the marina.. Sóller is a great location for getting up into the Tramuntana mountains, we walked directly from Sóller, but we also Cycled from Sóller the entire length of the mountains to Cap de Formentor in the north and Port d'Andratx in the south west... (Cycling from Sóller is not for everyone, as which ever way you go, you have hard climbing to do, in-fact 10 miles climbing with no break if you go towards Puig Major !)
Sóller is in a valley surrounded by mountains, we were there mid winter when the Sun is lowest is the sky, so the Sun does not rise over the mountains until late morning and disappears over the mountains mid afternoon, meaning Sóller is quite cold as nothing gets chance to warm up in the Sun. I imagine its totally different later in the year when the Sun is higher in the sky... We didn't take enough winter clothes with us, and had to go shopping for more. Also the heating in the house is not brilliant.
