Arrived to our accommodation during the heatwave in Spain. We were expecting an air-conditioned room (as this is what we had paid for), unfortunately after checking in, we were told that none of the air-conditioners were working in the hostel dorm rooms and only in the common areas and staffed areas of the building. After speaking with staff, we had been told this had been going on for weeks and was yet to be fixed. Since our room had only a small window and zero breeze, the temperature was unbearable (38 degrees Celsius some days), we asked if there was anything they could do, such as a refund for our remaining nights so we could book another hotel or some compensation at the very least, which they denied. Also had very unpleasant experiences with the front reception staff, especially one woman in particular who was the rudest person I have ever met, from the moment we checked in (prior to having any issues), and the other staff members who couldn't get their story straight on who was and was not a manager.
