Santemar

Breakfast was good. Room was clean and smart. Good location near the beach. Staff helpful.

We have stayed in this hotel many times. The staff as always on reception are excellent, such great service. The secure hotel car park and lots of room is a bonus, as so convenient and easy to get in and out of. Our bedroom was spotless, quiet and the beds are so very comfy. We will stay in this great hotel in the Spring. It is just off the prom in Sardinero which lots of small bars/cafes/with good food, in the hotel street. There are some great walks from the hotel as well. We tend to leave the car in the carpark and use the every few minutes and cheap buses into the centre, so convenient and silly not to!! LOVE IT. A COMMENT FOR THE MANAGER, you are doing such a great job as the staff are brilliant, most speaking good English as well. WELL DONE!

The hotel was very welcoming and comfortable. We went for a drink in the bar and to look at the evening menu. We were booked in as half board. As soon as we mentioned this in the bar we were told, by who I presume, was the restaurant manager, that we had to choose from a very different menu. The menu we were given was obviously a very small choice of food and mainly fish, no vegetarian option. When my husband offered to pay the extra for the a la carte menu she said we couldn't but after standing his ground she eventually agreed I could choose from the main menu, which we thought we would be doing anyway. The female who was I presume in charge was not at all welcoming. We won't be staying here again when there is more choice of accommodation in the town.

Fantastic hotel! Bedroom very clean, comfortable bed and soft pillows. Great shower room. Hotel is in El Sardineo area so close to bars, beaches which are wonderful. The breakfast was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved our week’s stay at the Santemar. Almost everything was faultless. Our room was spacious, clean and well decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning and bathroom worked well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We looked forward to the breakfasts each day, the choice and quality were phenomenal. The cost of using the hotel’s carpark was too high and we chose to park in the street outside. One aspect of the hotel I particularly liked was that, when I spoke to the receptionists in Spanish, they answered in Spanish. I do think this shows class and respect for the customer and I wish more Spanish restaurants and hotels would follow this example. I hope the Santemar will encourage staff to continue to use Spanish with foreign guests where practicable.

I love Hotel Santemar, great building, great staff, very clean, very comfortable and my favourite location in Santander.
