We had an extremely disturbing experience at this property. During our stay, we were robbed, and to make matters worse, the host provided limited assistance. From the time we called her in a panic about what occurred, her first response and repeated response was "this is not my fault." We had to insist that she called the police which she questioned if this was necessary. This was not only terrifying but also completely unacceptable from someone offering accommodations through a reputable platform and where the guest are not fluent on the language. Our door was not broken into as the thief had a key to the unit. Irina only offered to change the locks if we left the unit. While we were sorting things out with the police, she never followed up with us, offered a refund, or even inquired if any of the belongings from the unit was taken. Point blank, she did not care about our safety or well being nor did she try to assist in any helpful manner!!!! Also before all of the guests arrived at the unit, lots of questions were asked by Irina regarding who was staying and where we were coming from when all of this information was already provided in the initial booking. There were no safety measures at the property- pin pad key lock where the code could be changed after each visit or a safe for guests to put their most valuable belongings. Nor was any prior warnings given about being mindful of your possessions as the police told us this was a common issue. We felt completely abandoned in a very vulnerable situation. We are sharing this review to warn future guests: do not book this rental if you care about your safety and security. Booking.com should take responsibility for listings like this and ensure proper support and accountability from hosts in emergency situations!
