Sea Senses

Our stay at Sea Senses Apartment was profoundly disappointing and in some ways unsafe. The apartment was not as described and the host’s attitude made matters worse. Key issues: No air conditioning on arrival in 30°C+ heat. We were misled about a "working unit" in the bedroom — it turned out to be a heating system, not AC. One of us suffered an asthma attack and later pneumonia due to the heat and humidity. Unwashed sheets and towels smelling of fermented fish. At 3 a.m., our daughters were drenched in sweat and had to shower to cool down — but even the towels were foul-smelling. We had to wash everything ourselves the next morning. Dishonest and unhelpful local contact (Bart): Blamed us for system failures and misrepresented the state of the apartment. When repairmen arrived, they confirmed poor maintenance and setup of the AC. "24-hour service" was a false promise: When we locked ourselves out, we were charged €45 and had to wait two hours. The host dismissed our complaint with: “My time costs noting and It’s my day off.” Overall atmosphere was rude and hostile: Instead of empathy or assistance, we received blame and defensiveness at every turn. We strongly advise against booking this property. It was the worst travel accommodation experience we’ve had — unprofessional, unsanitary, and unpleasant from start to finish.
