“20 minutes on foot from the old town”
The hotel sits in a painfully dull area — but don’t let that put you off. Parking is free on site, so it’s easy to leave the car and use your comfortable room as a base for exploring the Basque capital. A five-minute walk brings you to a shopping mall packed with (plastic-feeling) chain restaurants: Burger King, KFC, Pizza Hut and the like. After about 20 minutes on foot, you’ll reach the old town, slightly elevated above everything else. Along the way — and once you’re up there — you’ll find plenty of more authentic places to eat and drink. Be sure to try pintxos, the local take on tapas. The hotel itself is comfortable and well run, with a generous breakfast buffet included in the price. If you overdo it, there’s a decent gym right next to reception. The only minor drawbacks are slow Wi-Fi and the risk of being woken early in the morning or late at night by slamming doors in neighbouring rooms.
“Economical hotel close to town”
A reasonably well appointed hotel within a 20 min walk from town. Underground parking and a decent breakfast
“We liked the location. Very closed to the mall.”

“Clean, spacious room, but annoying to not be able to make coffee in the morning”
The junior suite room was very large and spacious. Everything very clean.
There was no tea or coffee making facility in the room.

“Slept well and great breakfast. Easy parking. Price was good. Air con works. · Cons: 4 star hotel 10 years ago, worn out. Mini bar too warm. No toilet brush. Only one remote for 2 tv's. Only one wireless tv with very bad connection.”
