“Friendly staff and a comfortable stay”

The best

We had a pleasant stay at Sercotel Porta Barcelona, staying here to watch a Barcelona Women’s match at the nearby Estadi Johan Cruyff. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which set a great tone from the start. The room was clean and perfectly adequate for a short break, though the air conditioning could have been a bit stronger. Strangely the key card kept de-registering from the room, but the staff always quickly resolved it with a smile. Breakfast was nice, good variety and fresh options to start the day. The local area is quiet, which made it easy to relax, and getting into the city centre was simple thanks to the nearby tram. Overall, a solid base for exploring Barcelona with great service and a calm atmosphere.

“The staff was very pleasant and helpfull. On our last day, we had an inconvenence with transportation, so the lady at the front desk even extended our stay by an hour free of charge, so we could have our coffee, and still have time to pack up. · Cons: The location was really far from all main tourist attractions and the city centre, so it took us about an hour each way using public transport. Another thing that bothered me is that they don’t have toilet brushes in any of the rooms, or even the whole facility, which I found out when I went down to the reception desk to ask for it, and the kind man explained it to me.”

“Be aware, they charge you even if you have free cancellation”

The best

Booked through Choice hotel and cancelled with free Cancellation policy. However, the hotel still charged me for the cancelled room and produced dubious information to credit card company stating there is no free cancellation while there is. Be aware of booking with this hotel, once you booked, your money is gone.

Clean as it should be. Great receptionist when we arrived. Pro, fast and very nice, giving tips..

To be improved

The breakfast is horrendous. Poor quality for everything. Choice is ok but everything is of poor quality from Danish to juices to eggs. I’d be happy to pay 20 euro instead of 15 for a much better experience. Like Ibis standard for example
