our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by a major issue with the electricity. From 6 PM until 11 AM the next morning, we had no power at all, meaning no lighting, no WiFi, and no way to charge our phones. The host was unable to resolve the issue directly and instead advised us to contact an emergency service at our own expense, with a promise of reimbursement—something that didn’t feel ideal. We later discovered that only our bungalow was affected due to a faulty washing machine. The lack of power also meant we couldn’t use the dishwasher or washing machine for the rest of our stay. Worse still, we had stocked up on fresh food, including seafood and meat, which had to be thrown away, costing us over £100. Since we had specifically chosen this bungalow for self-catering due to dietary needs, we had to unexpectedly eat out for both dinner and breakfast, adding to our expenses. After more than 15 hours without power, the issue still wasn’t fully resolved. Given that this was a known problem, it should have been handled much better by the host. While the property itself was lovely, the way this situation was managed was disappointing, and it significantly impacted our stay. Hot tub wasn’t hot enough. No bbq as described should have one
