“Probably the worst place for the money they charge”

la casa de la publicidad falsa - the house of false advertisement. Nothing you see in the pictures reflects real condition of the property. Everything is heavily photoshopped. After you seeing the photos you think this is a very luxury flat, but worry not, you are about to get scammed. If you say that I don’t care about anything I just need a dirty bad and stay in the center of Sol, go ahead and get it. But these are the list of the things I experienced and it is better for you to know before getting this place. You start your experience with a very confusing instruction. Just remember these; the building number is 26 and the apartment has no number, it is on the last floor, where the steps end, the door on the left hand-side with a hobbit house size entry door. While going up there is a broken marble stair, be careful with that step. You can open both building and apartment door with the link the owners sends you, you don’t need to carry the keys!because the owner gives you 2 sets of 6 key sets, totaling 12 keys together, but you just need 2 keys anyway. Based on the previous reviews and my experience, there is an ongoing roof and bathroom issue and owner may ask your permission to get things done or not to use one of the showers during your stay. We didn’t give permission then they tried to cancel our appointment a day before. When changed their mind this time they asked us not to use one shower during our stay. One of the rooms and the balcony room door very short, you may hit your head like I did four times in two days if you are taller than 5’6”/170cm. I am 5’10/180cm. One of the rooms door doesn’t open all the way because there is a bump on the floor. All the furniture are waay older than they look and the couch in the balcony room stains. We had blood satin on one of our bad sheets but maybe you get luckier.

• Ongoing roof and bathroom issues; owner may restrict use or pressure you to allow repairs during your stay. • Risk of cancellation or use restrictions if you don’t agree to owner’s terms. • Low door frames in one room and balcony — not suitable for people over 5’8”/175 cm. • One room door doesn’t fully open due to a floor bump. • Old furniture and stained couch. • Found a bloodstained bed sheet. • Windows can’t be opened due to strong fried food smell from surrounding restaurants. • confusing electronic door access system.

The location is great, in the heart of Madrid!

To be improved

All 3 days we were without hot water, that was for family of 5 a big problem. The roof is leaking and there is some mold in the flat.
