“Stunning hotel just inside the city walls”
Stunning hotel located just inside the old medieval walls of Avila. We arrived after a long day travelling and this hotel was just what we needed. The hotel room was modern and beautiful and had a lovely view of the church, the staff were all friendly and helpful and there is an onsite restaurant and cafe. We only stayed for one night and unfortunately it rained almost the whole time so we didn't have a chance to explore the hotel and gardens fully - we would have liked to have stayed longer!
“Luksus:-)”
“Supreendente”
Uma estadia que nos surpreendeu!! Localização, atendimento e qualidade!!
“Can't Be Beat”
The Sofraga Palacio can not be beat if your staying in Avila. It's located right inside the city gate. Every inch of the hotel combines historic significance with modern comfort and style. Make sure you explore the hotel. It's built into the ancient city walls and well worth the time. The rooms are big. Our bed was comfortable, as were the linens. The TV and wifi were good. We ate in the hotel bar a couple times. The weather was uncooperative. The menu isn't huge, but what we had was very good. Nice wine list too. Two staff standouts were Carolina at the front desk and Nacho in the bar. They're the best. If you can get a room here, don't look elsewhere. You'll be happy with your stay.

“Enjoying the quietness of a tour destination after everyone else goes home!”
We had the opportunity to stay at this hotel during a recent visit to Avila Spain. The hotel is located directly inside the main entrance to the city and is in fact built into the city walls- an amazing location! We upgraded to a premium room (#107) which had a Juliette balcony and was very spacious. In addition to the usual conveniences including a mini-fridge, coffee maker and a/c-heat the room was finished to a very high standard with top line furniture, accessories, linens and bath products. The room was extremely comfortable and quiet. This is probably the best hotel in the Best Western family we have stayed at. One odd feature was the climate control system which is apparently partially managed by the front desk staff and we discovered the a/c shut off in the middle of the night and we had to ask the desk agent to turn it back on. There is a very nice restaurant as well as a terrace (casual) restaurant and a "cafeteria" which served sandwiches and light meals. They did seem a bit overwhelmed and were short of staff in the restaurants, but everything was well prepared and tasty. The hotel features a spa which we did not have a chance to visit. The entire property is extremely well decorated and furnished and you can tell a lot of consideration went into the process of converting it to a hotel. Parking is limited (being inside the city) and you should reserve a place at the time you make your room reservation, the charge is $15 euro per night. Should you choose to not dine at the hotel restaurants, there are a dozen or so places a 10 minute walk away just outside the city walls, although I would avoid the ramen restaurant which is staffed by rude and unprofessional employees- we actually got up and left! Overall you could not ask for a better location or hotel in Avila. One nice thing about staying here is that after the tour groups have left for the day, you can wander the quiet city in the evenings and enjoy the atmosphere.
