SOL Katmandú Park & Resort

Floor was too high up for my child with disability did explain this but there wasn’t a room available even despite me emailing before arrival This was really the only thing that let this hotel down

I had to cut short my stay at the Hotel Sol Katmandu because it was not bearable any more. Me and my small child have experienced a police operation in the neighbouring room during the night, and I had to call hotel security several times, because the family was fighting terribly and the children screamed in fear. It did not feel safe and it is not an acceptable environment for a small child. There are a lot of strange guests in the hotel, which are drinking, fighting, also they smoke everywhere, even if it is not allowed. The most guests they did not have a good upbringing from my perspective. Everything in the hotel looks old and worn, and it smells unpleasant. Everything also looks dirty. The food was inedible for us; there were hardly any fresh items, only thawed ready meals. Many dishes smelled very unpleasant for us. Drinks at the bar were also undrinkable for me, Mojito smelled like Sprite. The water in the dispenser in the restaurant smelled strongly of chlorine and was undrinkable for us; we had to bring our own water. Other guests were very loud at night, and we couldn't sleep. The swimming pool was closed almost all day one day. When we called our taxi through reception on the last day, we were sent outside. However, reception canceled our taxi order while we were standing outside! We stood there for 1.5 hours, me with a small child in the sun. I have a witness who can confirm that the hotel canceled the taxi. I have a lot of fotos and videos from the hotel. The manager has offered some special services to us which we have first accepted. However, after I saw a policemen near our room and that fighting family, I could not stay any further their and needed to pay for a new hotel two. I can only say, stay away from this hotel please. This is terrible and from my perspective the the price is not justified. We have changed to another hotel and it was almost the same price, but not comparable at all to the old one, food was wonderful and very nice guests.

👎 There’s only one snack bar available with quite limited selection of food. The coffee from coffee machines is really untasty - not made with grains but some ready (probably artificial) liquid. The breakfast was the least satisfying out of all 3 main meals. Lunch could be improved as well, but was okey. It would be could the hotel offered some bracelets for some of the older the kids with chips in it (and not separate card rooms). Also using most of attractions is with adults company only which isn’t always convenient (especially the splash area).

The tub and some parts of the decorations seemed a bit old

Need improvement on the night entertainment with both adults and kids.

Side gates not been left opened long walk around if gone over to finnigans pub pity but aside that brilliant stay Needs better fridge and less smelly
