“4 star hotel - 5 star personnel”
Very clean and large room. Nice breakfast but above all a top staff. We arrived very late and receptionist was waiting outside to welcome us and guide us to the parking Space. On the day of our check-out, we had to leave early and we got a breakfast bag for on the way. Everything was arranged and clearly communicated. Beach and restaurants nearby on walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel.

“Great location for this hotel”
This hotel is just a short walk to the shops and bars with Aldi being three minutes up the road. If you go here to buy wine please be aware that the majority of bottles have corks so you will need a cork screw! The hotel is very busy with people coming and going most of the time. While we were there there was a large group of women and a large group of cyclists who all breakfasted early and who had tables reserved for them. This did not bother us as we went down to breakfast later. All staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. Breakfast was very good with plenty of things to choose from - even Cava! I cannot comment on the evening meal as we went out to eat, due to there being many good restaurants in the area - however, quite a number of them do not open until 7.30pm/8.00 pm. The swimming pool was still open, even though it was mid October. It could be a little breezy round the pool even though the temperatures were in the twenties. There was always plenty of room as hardly anyone came to the pool and if they did, it was for only a couple of hours. There is a bar leading off from reception and my feeling is that this could be made a little bit cosier, especially on a night time, as it is rather bright with a TV on all the time. There was a couple of nights of entertainment whilst we were there. Our room was a premium room with a sea view and we had a huge bed, bath robes and slippers, iron and ironing board, free safe, mini fridge and a beverages tray with a kettle. There was a complimentary bottle of water for the first night. In the fridge to purchase was water, coke and beer. Prices were quite reasonable. The room was cleaned daily and towels replaced if you wanted them. Handwash, shower gel, body wash and tissues were provided. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning was still switched on so we had comfortable nights sleep. Occasionally late at night there was some noise in the corridor outside when people came to bed but I was only woken once at 1.45 am! The hotel is next to a main road but early in the morning and in the evening/night time there is hardly any traffic (or people!). I felt very safe in this area and if you like walking then you can walk about three miles in either direction along the front. There is also a very good designated cycling lane which goes round the town. Cycles can be hired from various outlets and the hotel also had some that you could use. We found the bars and restaurants to be reasonably priced especially the wines and coffees about 3.30-3.50 Euros.
“Lovely break in autumn”
We stayed at Sol Port Cambrils for 11 nights from 30th September. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are well appointed, although it has to be pointed out that the hotel is situated on quite a busy road where cars and motorbikes seem to rev at all times of the day and night. We used the pool area most afternoons and it was generally very quiet. The hotel is popular with groups so the restaurant tables are allocated to these groups. If you are a couple its sometimes difficult to get a table. The staff were all very polite. We enjoyed our stay.
“Wonderful Hotel 🩷”
Second visit to this hotel this summer. We love it! Staff are so friendly and helpful, lovely Sara on reception remembered us! It's a fabulous location, very clean rooms etc comfortable beds. Hospitality tray in room with free safe and fridge. We absolutely love the musicians who play in the outside dining area which in itself is beautiful, we will be back. Thank you to all the staff☺️ Also, Cambrils is a beautiful resort, definitely worth staying there
“A thoroughly relaxing holiday!”
Just back from a very relaxing week at the Sol Port Cambrils. First time to stay here and it won't be the last. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the lovely Sara at reception, we knew we were going to be well looked after for the week. The hotel seems like a very happy place to work as every staff member we interacted with over the 7 days were so pleasant and helpful. From those on reception, the bar staff, the restaurant team and the housekeepers, everyone had a smile and they are all a credit to the hotel management. Location wise, the hotel is close to all the wonderful shops and restaurants Cambrils has to offer, yet far enough off the main coast road (Ave de la Diputació) not to be bothered by the busy traffic. It is also 5 minutes walk to the crescent shaped beach (Platja del Regueral) and also the bus stops that go to Salou, Port Aventura, La Pineda, Tarragona and Barcelona. For us flying into Reus Airport, it was a pleasant 45 minute ride on the public Plana Bus which dropped us 5 minutes walk to the hotel for a cost of €4. We stayed in a standard pool view room with a small but private balcony. There was plenty of space in the room and we had a huge and comfortable bed and lovely evening sunshine. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard. The pool area had a small bar for drinks and snacks, but there always seemed to be sun-beds available for all the guests. Pool bar staff were very pleasant and brought drinks out to the guests on their sun-beds. We stayed B&B and the breakfast had a great selection on offer with eggs, pancakes and omlettes being freshly prepared on the griddle by the chef. I see some reviews complaining about not getting "proper" sausages and bacon, but we had no complaints sampling some of the wonderful Catalan breakfast treats. It was also a pleasure to have breakfast in the open air and on certain mornings listening to live saxophone, harp and violin music. On the one wet evening we had, we decided to stay in the hotel and pay for the evening buffet meal which was very reasonably priced at €22 per person. Once again, there was also a great choice of Catalan and international food and we left very satisfied. Unfinished wine from your meal can also be brought up to the main bar area which was a nice touch. The main bar area was always nice and cool with a side entrance out to a lovely seated are where you could have a coffee (a smoke) and to chill out. They had some kind of entertainment on different nights with singers encouraging guests to get up for a dance. No complaints about the quality of Wi-Fi at any time during our week at the hotel. There is an ALDI supermarket 3 minutes walk from the hotel for any essentials. Although I am awarding the hotel a 5 star excellent rating, the hotel itself was a little tired looking in places and could benefit from some refurbishment. The Melia Hotel Group should undertake such an investment in this little jewel of a hotel where the attitude of staff more than makes up for any shortcomings in the décor. We greatly look forward to our next visit to the Sol Port Cambrils.
