“Overrated”
WHY does check in take so long ? Hotel and room was nice , wifi often dropped off in the room which was annoying, there was usb plug in the room which didnt seem to work, not sure about hdmi. food was ok just not very hot sometimes. We were only there for 4 days but dont think we would return.
“I payed a lot for this hotel and you have to buy your food.”
Good food, but nothing for diabetic persons. I have to buy my yoghurt in a shop.
“Can't wait to return”
My husband and I stayed at this hotel last month for my birthday, we had such a great time we have booked again for next month March . I recieved a birthday card and a bottle of bubbly from the hotel which was really lovely. We were on the 8th floor with excellent sidesea views. The food in the restaurant is of a good standard something for everyone ( maybe not the pizza and chips section ). The hotel is lovely, good rooms with a kettle and tea and coffee tray. The bars and communal areas are very nice, very clean as is the whole hotel. with lovely staff from reception to barstaff and the lady who cleaned our room was lovely. The hotel is ideally situated for the beach, local bars and restaurants, San Miguel street and torremolinos town. Can't wait to go back
“A lovely hotel worth a visit, just a shame about the transport issues”
When I read some of these reviews, I wonder if those people have stayed in the same hotel as me. Yes, check-in is extremely slow but not a deal breaker because you are immediately drawn to the size of the hotel and its cleanliness. My room was lovely, spacious, good sized balcony and great view. The downside for me, personally, was the building noise from across at the other hotel. One of two I was supposed to be able to use but both were out of action. The cleaners are very pro-active and do a great job all over the hotel. I was especially pleased that the cleaners knew how to make a bed and didn’t just pull the covers back over so you, unexpectedly, got into a crumpled bed at night! Always plenty of space in the dining room and a varied selection of food. Yes, certain food is available daily, but isn’t that the case in most hotels if you stay for more than a week? To praise the chefs, whatever was served it was piping hot and, to my amazement, chefs that can actually cook vegetables properly without turning them to mush! A delightful choice for breakfast, lots of pastries and freshly cooked eggs however you wanted them so no complaints from me. I certainly didn’t starve!! Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to find all that the hotel offers. I did notice some reps had meetings and explained the layout plus how to get around the area but the company I travelled with were fairly absent in that respect. However, it’s a huge complex so those that like to wander will find plenty to do. Entertainment in the bar every evening began around 9-ish. Personally, I think the hotel needs to address what could fill that ‘emptiness’ between dining and going into the bar. Other hotels I’ve stayed in have a compère or one of the entertainment staff…..not everyone’s cup of tea but worth considering. Acts were hit and miss…..great Il Divo tribute and a girl group called Pop something. Both were terrific in my opinion but I thought the rest of the week was filled with mediocre cabaret acts apart from the Flamenco dancers. Overall, I did like this hotel though, for me, my stay was significantly spoiled by not being able to use my balcony due to the noise from builders. I still feel strongly that the travel company should have at least forewarned us. Offering to change my room with just three days left of my eleven night stay wasn’t an option I could agree to. However, other areas of the hotel were unaffected. I agree with the traveller who mentioned children running around. Unfortunately, that’s down to how much control is asserted by parents so can’t blame the hotel but, on occasions, I did think restaurant staff might have done a bit more when children were whizzing round where people were carrying hot liquids and hot food. Just a thought….? The deterrent for me not returning revolves around transport. It’s such a trek to walk to the town centre to get buses. If coaches can drop guests off at the hotel, I don’t know why there can’t be a more local bus service. There is a local lift costing 50 cents which takes you up to the top of some steep steps and into the centre but, personally, I do prefer to have easier access. There’s no escape from the fact this is a lovely hotel with a lot going for it but, we all know, you can’t please everyone.
“Too risky for couples better hotels”
The location is at the bottom of torremolinos great for the beach but tram and town at the top. We stayed 3 weeks when arrived checking was very slow wanted extra credit card and signature but no explanation given. The hotel is not adult only and be aware the card room for adult games can have kids playing football. The library had small children on scooters whizzing around. Our room was very well finished but the hotel management put small children both sides who made a lot of noise being 9n holiday and having fun. It is rated 4 star but hotel management school day one teaches don't mix guests together. When I went to reception their attention immediately diverted to a Spanish couple so walked away. Have to mention the cleaners are great so friendly and chefs do present a good quality of food. The dining room is a canteen not resterant but functional once you get 8n ignore the table guides they will send you to shall we say not the best areas. So just find a table you want. Conclusion lots of good points estate is 4 star but managers /reception very poor we went out early and came in late so fine for us but if you want to stay in all day think carefully other better hotels. My company had melia hotels on corporate list which I have removed after my 3xperience so just look into all options in torremolinos ismy advice.
“Great week”
The hotel was absolutely wonderful — beautifully maintained, comfortable, and offering a truly relaxing atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally kind, professional, and always ready to help with a warm smile, which made the entire stay even more enjoyable. Everything was perfectly organized, and the service exceeded my expectations in every way. I will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay.
