“All in all we had a very relaxing holiday at Sotovento.”

The best

The apartment was clean, very secure and located in a quiet location. There is a locked gate with access onto a main road only a short walk from La Tejita beach, as well as a very pleasant open air shopping mall with some great restaurants, and a supermarket (if you’re not hiring a car you certainly won’t go hungry). The gardens around the property are very pretty, and all areas are kept spotlessly clean, although some dog owners on the complex don’t clean up after themselves. Veronica (who takes care of the apartment) is very friendly, accommodating and responsive to messages.

To be improved

The apartment would benefit from a little updating - for example the kitchen looks a little tired, and a shower screen in the bathroom as opposed to a curtain would be better. It’s also worth mentioning that there are no loungers by the pool which was disappointing - some lightweight foldable type chairs or loungers which could be taken to the pool area would be beneficial, particularly for older guests who may not be able to sit on hard patio tiles. The wooden chairs on the apartment terrace could also benefit from some cushions as they were a little uncomfortable to sit out on for any length of time.

“Despite problems with apartment, our stay was fine”

To be improved

This apartment was not the one I booked in November. They informed me it was unavailable 2 weeks before we travelled and offered us a different property in a different location nearby. We accepted this as there were few other options at that time. There was no offer to refund any fee for this substitute apartment which is not in such a premium position as the original. On arrival the toilet was not working, WiFi not working, no shower curtain, sink in bathroom not draining properly, glass sliding doors did not lock or close correctly. The WiFI and toilet were fixed within 2days - the other problems were not addressed, nor did I get a reply from the company to my email detailing said deficiencies.
