“Great location in old town, clean and bright but bring good ear plugs for night-time noise”

The best

Bright clean spacious apartment in great location, walking distance to all old town attractions, about a 15/20 minute walk to beach. Felt very safe. Getting access was via door codes using mobile phone (might not suit less tech savvy travellers). Recently renovated in bright modern but not luxury style (think IKEA/Jysk). Extra towels and sheets left for a 1 week stay. Bed very comfortable. Roof terrace for private use with 2 sunbeds and 2 sunchairs. In March terrace got sun from mid morning to late afternoon (note access was on hallway outside door of apartment and via narrow winding stairs). Lots of bars cafes restaurants in short walking distance.

To be improved

Main downside with the apartment was the noise outside at night from night socialising that was very very loud and kept us awake until we bought (strong wax) earplugs. On Friday night the noise continued on and off until 6am. Once we got the earplugs our sleep somewhat improved. Owner should really look at putting in proper noise insulating windows. This would increase significantly the rating for this property. I would not return due to this issue. Other smaller points - 2 flights of steep stairs to apartment and steep narrow windy stairs to terrace (not a problem unless you have mobility issues) - kitchen was really only suitable for low level cooking (fine for us), only basic utensils of cutlery and knives provided, no counter space even to fit the kettle/toaster/dish drainer. Owner should really look at putting extra shelves/counter/utensils.. - lack of storage - a few extra pieces of storage would help, hooks inside door for jackets, hooks in bathroom for towels etc - small touches like leaving enough toilet roll/a bottle of water/olive oil etc would be more welcoming.

Internet was biggest dissapointement, it was very weak and connection unstable non stop, missing place for towels in bathroom and AC was not working good enough, it was very cold and AC couldnt warm up
