Great location, lovely spacious roof terrace, spacious apartment, owners were helpful and responsive.

To be improved

The sofas need replacing - they are shabby and uncomfortable. The place is quite cluttered with all the books. We had to defrost the freezer ourselves to make the fridge-freezer shut. The guests who stayed in the second bedroom found it difficult to sleep due to noise from birds on the roof.

Our stay was extremely unpleasant and filled with numerous issues that caused us great distress. 1. Check-in Problems: We successfully completed the online check-in process and provided proof to Booking.com, refuting the property owner’s false claims that they didn’t receive our details. Despite coordinating with Franklin on WhatsApp about our arrival time, the owner falsely accused us of keeping them waiting for hours. 2. Accommodation Discrepancy: Upon arrival, Franklin—who spoke no English—took pictures of our passports despite us already completing the online check-in. This left us understandably concerned, because as per data privacy laws, hosts are not allowed to keep copies or photos of our ID cards or passports. Inside, we found a 2-bed and a mattress on the floor instead of the 3-bed setup we had paid for, leading us to immediately complain to Booking.com. 3. Hot Water and Heating Issues: On January 1, there was no hot water or heating. We reported it, and after a video call with a technician, we were instructed to fix the boiler ourselves. The next day, January 2, the issue recurred, and while we were asleep, someone entered the property in the middle of the night abruptly without our consent, a serious breach of security! We asked them to leave immediately and reported this alarming incident to Booking.com. 4. Unresolved Boiler Issues: On January 3, we requested an arranged time for repairs, but the property owner began playing manipulative games. They lied on the Booking.com messaging platform, claiming someone was on their way or already at the property, which was false. Even during a call with Booking.com, they falsely stated they were inside the property when they were not. 5. Alternative Shower Arrangements: The hot water issue was never resolved, forcing us to make alternative arrangements for showers and endure significant inconvenience. This stay was deeply upsetting due to the lies, security violations, and failure to address the problems.
