The apartment was well kept, spacious and very clean. It's in a great location, although it can get a little noisy, but we were made aware of it, so that wasn't a problem.

There were a couple of issues, but I understand they are outside of the host's control. As soon as they were notified, they took care of everything promptly!

“A poorly cleaned and very ill-smelling apartment.”

The apartment was very well situated and we were not bothered by the excessive noise that many previous guests complained about. I suspect that this was because we were not there on a weekend, so the three surrounding bars were not jumping like they may have been at other times. Also, we found the bed to be quite comfortable. The owner was friendly, and although he took too long to respond to our concerns, he eventually was responsive.

We were not given the code to access the apartment until after the 3:00 check-in, and because we arrived a little early and didn't have access to WIFI, we had to wait outside in the street until the owner showed up. The apartment reeked of cigarette smoke. There was no top sheet on the bed and we had to sleep with just a comforter on top of us until the owner responded two days later and brought us a sheet. The comforter smelled like it hadn't been washed in a while and we felt like we were forced to sleep in dirty, used sheets. The water pressure in the shower was so high that the hot water was used up too quickly for even one person to take a complete shower. The furniture in the apartment was very cheap and flimsy. The windows were almost impossible to close without climbing onto a chair to reach the top latch. And finally, the floor was so filthy that when we walked barefoot in the apartment, the soles of our feet turned black.
