Sunprime Atlantic View Suite & Spa

We were here in February last year & absolutely loved it so wanted to return. We weren’t disappointed, we loved it again this year, everything was as we remembered. Nice glass of Cava on arrival, welcome gift of wine in a nice big clean room with a really powerful shower & amazing view from the balcony. Plenty of storage space & a small kitchen, we only used the fridge as we were All inclusive. Husband got a complimentary meat & cheese platter with a bottle of Cava delivered to the room on his birthday which is a really nice gesture. The buffet isn’t huge but there’s a good selection of freshly cooked hot & cold food & there’s always plenty of choice, there’s lots of lovely desserts too. Drinks are self service which suited us. There’s a well stocked mini market at the pool & if you’re all inclusive you help yourself to soft drinks, hot drinks & beer ( my husband’s favourite thing!) you could also have spirits & cocktails made by staff. The pool area is very large, quiet & laid back, you can always get a lounger any time of day. Evening entertainment is quite relaxed, the bar has a good selection of drinks. All staff throughout the hotel are friendly & welcoming. There are two supermarkets within five minutes walk, plenty of shops, restaurants etc start at the end of the road. The beach is 20/30 mins walk but worth it to walk past the sand dunes. We’ll definitely be back again!

Hotel was very welcoming with cava as we checked in . Check in was very swift and efficient. Room was a good size , clean and good location within the hotel . Beds were not comfortable as a double room was 2 single beds with thin mattress . If you want to cuddle your partner you would fall down the middle of the bed . Neither of us slept well the whole of our 2 week holiday . We were only bed and breakfast of which was most disappointing . Hot food was barely warm , it was obviously not hot held at a temperature of 72 degrees nothing was cooked to order , no omlette station . Fried eggs either over cooked or under cooked . Pate at breakfast tasted strange to my partner and did not eat much , was quite poorly later in the. dayWater in hot drink machines lukewarm as it left a scum on the top of the cup of tea this was mentioned to the whom we assume was the manager but nothing changed . If you are young I would not bother with this hotel , we’re early 60’s and felt young .Also the hotel is a 30 minute walk to the beach at a pace though taxis are cheap .would not come here again or even the island , felt very disappointed

We did 10 nights A.I 22/01 - 01/02 room 3rd floor. The only nice girl on reception was the one who checked us in (young, pretty makeup) polite and welcoming. Other ladies a bit frosty. No1 asked how our stay was when we left. Lunch time staff are all very nice & evening bar sever (young guy with glasses) also friendly & helpful. Lunches & dinners are very nice, lots of options & the food was always fresh. The prawns, beef tenderloin (tasted like fillet steak) were especially good! Only had breakfast couple times but again was good. The salads & baguettes (included in A.I) from the shop were also a great option if buffet not wanted! The pools are great. No issues getting sun loungers. Pool towels can be changed between 5-6pm at reception (we weren’t told this on arrival). The WiFi was ok but the tv didn’t work on apps without screen casting & kept turning itself on in the night so we unplugged. Drinks are good the own brands are ok, Victor in the mini market was really helpful & always friendly, I asked if was ok to make iced coffees which were very good with icecream :) No espresso martinis in the evening ?! Never been told unable to make certain cocktails before🤣 Our room had an excellent amount of space & storage, shower powerful. Excellent cleaning daily & hotel grounds also very well kept. Handyman helpful when our kitchen light fell down! One thing that lets down the hotel is the room 1) the beds are 2 singles pushed together so someone is always falling down the gap, for double occupancy the bed really should be a double mattress. I’ve looked at room types on booking.com & it does look like all the studios / apartments are single beds ? Also the bed was really creaky it sounded like mattresses springs were broken. Also cracks in the sink/shower/toilet so probably does need upgrading. The magnifying mirror was broken unfortunately so couldn’t use, the air con was NOT good / not powerful & also doesn’t reach the area you’re in bed. 2)There is SO much noise around the hotel it’s impossible to have a good nights sleep. We were up at 3:30/5am & again at 7:30am most days due to outside noise (glass waste being thrown in outside bins / vehicle noise / room cleaning noise & trolleys going up & down etc). The walls must be paper thin there is no soundproofing at all. If I was recommending anyone to stay I’d be asking the hotel to suggest a more peaceful room although I’m not sure that’s possible , maybe the 054-072 apartments by the pool on the left as they’re not in the main block? Location is good, been to Gran Canaria x6 times so there’s plenty to go and do. Due to age at this hotel (mostly 60+ Scandinavians) it’s nice to get out. Entertainment is mellow singing & people dancing which is nice if you want that kind of holiday. - 16 min walk to Yumbo which is what it is, cheap bars & a good atmosphere! Way2brothers restaurant 10 min walk very nice. - 10/12 min drive to meloneras which has some great sea views, shops, cocktails, restaurants. - 30 min walk or short taxi trip to mulligans Irish bar & other restaurants good night out. - 10 min drive to tipsy hammock great cocktail bar by the beach. - 22 min drive to stunning Puerto Rico harbour. Getting taxis is quick and fairly cheap. The pool activities looked great. The gym is fantastic so much equipment! Overall a really good stay as the hotel had some really great features along with good location & some lovely winter sun.

Third time we have visited this lovely hotel and already planning on returning. We love it, the relaxed atmosphere is perfect. We were on the 4th floor with lovely sea and pool view. You could always get a sunbed at any time of day. We hired a car and there was always lots of on site parking. The breakfast was wonderful with a huge selection from yogurts, fresh fruit, cheeses, pastries, bread, full English and so much more

This hotel is situated about 25 minutes walk from Maspalomas beach and as such quite a distance to walk if you have mobility problems although taxis regularly visit the hotel and are reasonably cheap. The hotel overall is extremely clean, well presented and the staff are very helpful. We had a one bedroom apartment which was spacious, well furnished and spotlessly clean, it has a large fridge cooking rings and crockery and cutlery if you want to make food. The bathroom is spacious with a lovely large walk in shower, amenities included shampoo, conditioner and shower gel along with a hairdryer. The pool area is lovely and although we didn't use the pool it looked lovely from our balcony. We only ate in the restaurant for breakfast once so I can't really comment on the food although what I ate was very nice and a good selection. The view from our room was excellent to watch all the firework celebrations on New Years eve right across the bay so was incredible. Overall a lovely quiet, clean, well presented hotel and I would definitely stay again.

As regular swimmers we especially appreciated the 3 swimming pools that in November are comfortably warmed to spend as much time in the water as we liked. The pools are 25-30m long so condition swimming is possible and most of the time there was plenty of space to swim as much as we liked. Thanks to the staff who maintained the pools and pool area well. Good sun chairs and easily available since reserving of sun chairs was not allowed. One of the pools was even warmer than the others and was used for pool aerobics twice a day. The free sports activities were appreciated. We had buffet dinners twice at the 15% discount voucher offered to guests who don’t want meals included. Food was good, perhaps not fantastic, but definitely good. I don’t think we would have wanted meals included anyway, since it gets boring eating the same way all the time. There is a good Spar supermarket around the corner with a good variety of local produce and the room has a functional little kitchenette. I appreciated the combination microwave oven with a grill. I had to search the internet for instructions on how to use the microwave (!) but it worked well once I figured it out. The rooms are better than we expected. Very well planned, functional and comfortable and good ventilation. The shower is specious and the shower door didn’t leak at all. Good that there’s a window in the bathroom. Beds are good enough and we slept well. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about. Mostly we enjoyed having a big sunny private terrace with a pleasant view towards Maspalomas and the trees in the garden. Suntime hotel offered free baggage check in for our flight home at the hotel. This is a great service and makes the return journey very enjoyable since one doesn’t need to queue at the airport or drag suitcases to the airport. This is an excellent bonus at this hotel! We just printed out our suitcases tags, handed them over at the hotel and walked 500m to the local bus stop. Only 3,50€ to get to the airport and the local bus 66 is fast with a departure every hour. The hotel staff were all friendly and professional and helpful - every one! Thank you for a good holiday.
