On our first family holiday in 9 years with our young, but adult, children together. Firstly, we purposely selected this accommodation for the pool and the quieter area at night time. Upon arrival we found the pool empty for repairs. We were informed by accommodation providers that they were unaware of work until the week before our arrival. However, other residents informed us they were told last year. Second, and more frustrating is the first bedroom on entry there is an entrance onto the balcony which is great. No door though, just curtains that we had to clip together at night. The apartment is road side, a few metres from the bins, these are emptied at random times and 2-3 times during the night, every night. For example, some nights were 11.30 pm, 1.30pm and 6.30am. That topped with the traffic noise made for a very restless night. There is a glass screen that pulls across the balcony, but this was broken and due to be fixed the day after our arrival. Again we were informed they were only aware this was faulty as the previous guests left. After the first night of no sleep we attempted to book alternative accommodation but nothing within our financial means. Needless to say the communication response was still good but the information not so. When they did not arrive the first time I messaged again to be informed they need a specialist to repair and that would be another 3-4 working days. This bought us to 7th day of our 10 day stay. Yet again nothing. Messaged and they informed they can not get anyone now until 5th February. We leave 30th Jan. I will add we received a partial refund as a goodwill gesture at the same point as they promised 3-4 days for fixing it which we accepted thinking we'll catch up on sleep eventually. That has not happened leading to a not so chilled holiday unfortunately.
