Sweett - Charming in Sant Gervasi

The main problem we had was with the check in process. The system they use for checking in and paying the taxes didn't process any of our Australian cards or even a German one. Even if having paid the full amount (over 1.5k euros) and just having to pay less than 100 in taxes, they didn't want to let us check in and asked us to stop by the office, which closed before our arrival time to Barcelona. It was a very stressful moment in our holidays thinking we would have to find another place for the night with two little kids with us (having already paid for this one!). We offered to come early the next morning to pay cash but they denied. We were lucky a family member living in Europe paid for us with a Swiss credit card. Unfortunately, avoid this place if you use e banks, own Australian cards only, or not usual European big banks. You will find you won't be able to check in and ruin a day of holidays. In terms of the apartment, the kitchen could be better equipped (for example there is a HUGE pan but not little ones) and there are some risky cables and power points to consider if you travel with kids.

The place seemed a bit dated. I had a little issue with the stovetop, as it was a gas range without an automatic ignition. No matches or lighter were provided in a welcoming kit( which had coffee, salt/pepper/sugar; oil/vinegar and couple items to get dishes and laundry done.)I have never worked that kind of stove before, and I was a bit nervous about using it at first. Also the place could use: ice cube tray, plastic or wood spatulas, as the only tiny frying pan was Teflon; maybe seat cushions for firm dining chairs, and definitely some rug tape to keep it from sliding around. This building seemed to have very thin walls, we could hear a dog barking in a hallway,a crying baby and people playing piano upstairs. The electronic lock thing was a love-hate for us, as with patchy internet on the international plan, sometimes the link wouldn't work, thankfully the apartment had a physical set of keys as well.

Electrical artifacts were not too modern, A/C unit in living room and not powerful enough to cool the whole apartment.

The hotel is located in a very old building on a small street, the facilities are not perfect, all kinds of rooms are wooden doors, very old, and the combination of bathtub and shower curtain in the bathroom is very easy to cause water problems. Negotiating with the hotel manager while on the move is very difficult! Negotiation for half a month can not solve a small problem, the entire management team can not help you solve any booking problems, extremely poor booking and living experience.
