“NO Airport Shuttle !”
Before reporting the highlights of our overnight stay at this gorgeous hotel, first I want to clarity that, despite the hotel's own description here on TripAdvisor, there is most definitely NOT an airport shuttle service. I booked this hotel because it met all of our amenities list requirements, which included an airport shuttle. However, when I phoned the hotel upon arrival at Madrid-Barajas to ask where we should board the shuttle, I was informed that they do not offer shuttle service. The receptionist mentioned that they may have done so in the past, but they no longer provide this service. So if you're looking for a hotel with an airport shuttle, TaCH Madrid is not it. However, the hotel's proximity to the airport makes Ubering a good option. The ride is literally five minutes from the Arrivals terminal to the hotel entrance. Having clarified that situation, I can report that TaCH Madrid Airport ranks among the top tier of the 300+ hotels we've booked in our travels through 45 countries. The ambiance is modern, intelligent, upscale. At check-in, the desk agent was courteous, efficient and informative. We were assigned a 2-bedroom executive suite, which was quite lovely. The bathroom is enormous, with a full-size soaking tub (hot, hot water!) as well as a separate shower stall. In fact, the executive bathroom has two showers including the one mounted on the wall in the tub space. Towels were abundant and larger/thicker than hotel standard. Toiletries include Rituals brand shampoo and shower gel in wall-mounted dispensers. (Bring your own conditioner and body lotion.) The living area included a large desk space with chair as well as two comfy side chairs and a coffee table. The beds/pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and blackout curtains facilitated undisturbed rest. Four bottles of spring water awaited us in the room, which we gulped after flying from Rome to Madrid with no access to decent water. Room amenities included a mini-refridge, plentiful electrical outlets, excellent wi-fi, reading lamps at the desk and bedside, a TV in each room, large foyer with a full-length mirror, closet/shelf space, and a safe. We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast buffet, which included vegan options - fresh sliced fruits as well as a mixed green salad, baked beans, and fruit juices. Other options include scrambled or hard boiled eggs, breakfast meats and cheese, yogurt, dry cereal, and half a dozen types of breads/pastries. The gourmet coffee machine dispenses a diverse selection of both regular and decaf options (unfortunately no oat milk or soy milk). Other than the fact that the airport shuttle doesn't exist, TaCH Madrid Airport merits five out of five circles.
“Great location near the airport”
Great small hotel near the airport with a great breakfast included. Near the metro stop and plenty of restaurants. The staff was very nice
“Enjoyed our stay there Handy to coffee shop and takeaway”
The breakfast was excellent and good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location close to airport
No electric jug to make tea or coffee which you feel like after a long flight.
“Pleasant stay in Barajas...”
Close access to Terminal 4 for early departure. We have stayed there before. Friendly, efficient service and wholesome breakfast at an early hour!
“Perfect location near the airport”
We chose this hotel for the proximity to Madrid Barajas Airport and the secure basement parking facilities. The room was clean, with good shower pressure, good soundproofing, and came with a few complimentary drinks in the mini bar (we only had the water), a comfortable bed, and air conditioning. Dinner wasn't too bad but quite expensive. Breakfast the next morning was good. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were also quick to respond to emails, so this was a huge plus. We are happy to return.
There wasn't a kettle in the room, but we requested for a kettle from the reception, and were given one with two cups. The door to the room didn't lock properly. We had to play around with it to make sure it was securily locked. There weren't any slippers in the room.
“Great for an overnight before a flight”
Perfect for a night close to the airport. Found a number of restaurants and bars nearby. Staff were also super friendly and helpful. Easy to get to the airport via the nearby metro.
Pillows were not my favourite.
