Verified reviews from real guests who have already stayed here.
Good location near Playa Blanca, ideal for exploring the area.
Staff is friendly and attentive, providing good service despite some issues.
Facilities like pools are highlighted, though some non-functional during low season.
Overall a pleasant experience with some areas for improvement.
Some rooms noted as slightly dated, and presence of mosquitoes affected cleanliness.
Some reviews mention the price not corresponding to quality.
“Thank you THB - we loved it!”
All the staff are amazing and work so hard and long hours to help make THB Tropical Island a lovely place to stay. It’s clean and well maintained everywhere, beautiful pools and gardens and food choice and quality is brilliant. We stayed in a deluxe garden view room (1st floor) which had everything you need with some nice extra touches such as fridge, kettle, clothes airer, safe etc. Reception dealt immediately with a couple of requests we had which was much appreciated. We didn’t go to the entertainment so cannot comment on that - we just went in the sports bar in the evenings for a couple of drinks, was basic in there but lovely staff. Pool snack bar was also great. Main pool bit chilly but amazing to have vast amounts or sunbeds and parasols so you never had to worry. It’s was our children’s first abroad holiday (age 14 and 9) and they really want to go back to Lanzarote and THB again next year! Unfortunately all inclusive no longer an option as this would make it a more affordable possibility for us to return. Thank you THB Tropical Island - we had a fantastic holiday, made precious memories and would love to come back!
“Happy Holiday to Tropical Island”
Loved Tropucal Island. Very well set out. Nice helpful staff. Nothing too much bother. Loved the Koi Carp pond. Something for everyone. Famikues, couples , elderly.
“Pleasant stay for families”
Food was nice and always a good few options to chose from. The pools were warm and clean , so were the grounds , very clean and tidy . Very good entertainment team and kids club, kept the kids happy
“We had a lovely holiday there”
The first time we’ve had choice of 5 heated pools that adults and kids could swim in..the splash park isn’t heated or the three pools with water slides and they were too cold for us so the smaller heated outdoor pools made our holiday. We upgraded to half board plus which was a good idea as it was quite a walk from main town area and restaurants. There was a wide choice of food at breakfast and evening meal..no queuing and use of a microwave if necessary. Alcohol was included in the evening. Kids mini disco was very good..adult entertainment was passable but not outstanding. Staff were amazing and rooms and complex spotless. Aldi supermarket was 50 metres away. Good resort for children who like swimming. We will return
“Lovely place for a family holiday with youngsters”
We are 62 year old couple just back from a week with 4 adults and 5 of our grandchildren ranging in ages 13 to 2. We went self catering although the kids used the snack bar and found the food fine and we all used the pool bar and found the drinks very inexpensive. There was plenty for the kids to do in the numerous pools and slides and although there was an active animation team and a football camp /tennis courts etc they didn’t need it ..it’s a massive complex but although there’s a big main pool (cold apparently) the complex is split up in little areas with their own pools outside your rooms which are quiet and intimate . Shop on site has most things and a Lidl 10 mins away is very handy ..Ate out down near the beaches with plenty of restaurants our favourite Puerto Blanca ..Enjoy !!
“Terrible would not go back”
I came here with my daughter for 7 nights. When we arrived we both thought room was pretty standard. There was a damp smell and what smelt like sewers in the bathroom. We bought an air freshener as we thought we will be out most of the time. The first issue we had was the safe was locked while open so we couldn’t set a new code we went to reception to report this and someone came to fix it but we still couldn’t use it. So just carried all our personal documents and valuables with us. I had to ask for a heater for the room as there was a massive gap when the door was locked and the draft was terrible. The first heater that arrived into the room didn’t work so back to reception to ask for another. Our room was so cold we used blankets when sitting on the broken sofa bed to watch the only 3 English Channels available as there was no tv in the bedroom. I know we can’t do much about the weather but on day 4 it was a total washout and my daughter left our room to go to the indoor supermarket for a tin of coke. She went down the stairs inside and managed to slip and fall down 3 stairs at the bottom. When she asked the shop assistant for some ice as she had hurt her arm she was made to pay for it. I went to reception to complain and they didn’t seem to understand me. It was extremely busy with check-ins. I went back to the room and realised I had no kettle to even make a cup of tea so guess what back to reception again for a kettle to which they thought weird there wasn’t one but someone brought one to our room. My daughter took an asthma attack during our stay and got so distressed made herself sick with the thought of having to go to hospital in a different country, thankfully I was able to get her settled with the continuous use of her inhalers we didn’t need to attend hospital. The rooms are dirty and full of damp and mould we had pieces flaking from the ceiling in the bedroom above the bed falling down onto the bed. Damp stains on the bedroom ceiling. The runners for the wardrobe doors were shockingly dirty. As was the bedroom floor. Dirty tiles in bathroom on floor and walls. Mould on bathroom door in gap that what I think is to let the steam out as if you open the bathroom window there is a walkway behind the window so not very private. Massive gap in main door into room when locked. Entertainment was mainly for French guests. Thursday night was bingo night and although it free for a bottle of wine, one small bingo card with 15 numbers to mark and a cocktail stick to poke through the number if you can understand French and Spanish to know what number to poke. Tuesday night was French karaoke night. Food in restaurants at dinner was very basic and not very warm needed to use the microwave to heat it. The pizza restaurant was closed a few nights and when asked why it’s not open was told if no one comes within 30mins it gets closed. Pools outside very cold and full of debris lying in the bottom. Never saw anyone cleaning out the pools. Only saw them testing the water once. Guests smoking around the pools when the signs say no smoking at pool. Never saw a holiday rep during our stay. When looking on internet at this hotel most sites say 4-star. And when I booked I was told 4-star and shown pictures that looked stunning but this certainly should not be advertised as 4-star.
