“Great stay far from the crowds and nightlife noise, excellent bathing, little driving.”
This spacious bungalow is situated outside the lovely, quiet village of Tindaya at the foot of its sacred mountain. Barbara, the caretaker, informed us by Whatsapp about how to find the house and where to find the key. And gave us a hearty welcome. She had even put a few things (fruit, beer and drinking water!) onto the table and into the fridge! The cottage is really new, very clean and very well equipped; above all it has lots of space, storage room and this lovely terrace for our breakfast. The bed is not big but very comfortable. For those who want to have more space at night, there is a spare room with 2 individual beds. Otherwise, everything you need: large fridge, washing machine, spacious shower cabin, hot water with sufficient pressure (beware! The "warm" water can be extremely hot if set to more than 45%.), wifi, TV, 6 towels (3 big ones, change of towels and bed sheet in mid-week).- For those who love the desert and its wildlife the place is quite handy. (Rental car drivers should be very careful on the desert tracks; lots of potholes and very pointed rocks!) And since Tindaya is central you are in no time on the beaches of the west coast by the track towards Playa de Jarubio (don't try to use this track to go down to Los Molinos unless you have a 4WD car with good clearance!), El Corralejo and El Cotillo. Good restaurants in La Oliva and Villaverde (the one in Tindaya was closed during our stay. But there was a bar that does chicken dishes and a minimarket). - NB: I think the review written in December 2023 is utterly preposterous and absurd.
The place was nearly perfect. Except for the noise of a nearby building site and the village dogs just after dawn. But this is not the fault of the owner. - Just a few more details: it would be nice to have a tray to carry the breakfast things onto the terrace, a large tea pot, and a cool box (or bag) for picnics or the beach with 1 or 2 cooling elements you can freeze in the refrigerator.
