“A lovely apartment, nice village, nice area, too many dogs.”

The best

We had the first floor apartment, which is very nice and spacious and well-equipped. 2 Bedrooms, toilet and a living/dining/kitchen area. Is is on the edge of the village of Artomana which is quite small but has a charm about it. The village is well placed to explore the surrounding areas. The family of the owners are all very nice and helpful and the 81- year-old lady who lives opposite is an absolute sweetheart and we chatted regularly. Even with my basic Spanish.

To be improved

Ok, not the owner's fault but the village has several dogs, which were left to bark through the night. It was made worse as we stayed during an unusually hot spell and needed to open the windows to cool down. I would say that this probably wouldn't be a problem during "normal" times because when the windows are shut, the dogs do not present so much of a problem. I would say though, that the owners were very understanding when we mentioned the problem and I think some fans to cool the rooms would help.

Fantastic location, very scenic, easy walking around the area, free parking (on and off site), clean, recently renovated, very spacious accommodation in all rooms, home-from-home feel. Bilbao is a 30 minute drive away.

To be improved

Wi-Fi would have been nice, but not a deal breaker. Though there were items for coffee-making, we brought our own Nespresso machine and capsules; a non-faff solution.
