To be improved

I chose bookings for a pet friendly country hotel. This hotel is anything but that at the front there is a major road where traffic never stops. It’s on the road to one from Bilbo. Beyond that there is a railway line with lots of noise. To the rear there’s lots of industrial dead election. The town looks to suffer from postwar Soviet construction syndrome. I was going to leave the walkways are limited with dog and human faces towards the river it’s more apparent. I would never go back even at the point of a gun.

The best

The cost for one night was half that we paid for a hotel in the outskirts of Madrid. The directions suggested that the hotel did not have car parking facilities. However, we were able to park almost adjacent to the hotel, which was useful. The check-in process was very simple, and the lift to our rooms was clean and well-maintained. The room itself was adequate for our needs, with a small balcony. Although we were on the 7th floor, we were not as confident using it, as we both have a fear of heights. However, for those who haven't, this would be an excellent place to sit and enjoy snacks and drinks. Everything in the room was clean, with the towels and bedding crisp and fresh. WiFi reception was superb. The hotel is very dog-friendly, and had it not been a very cold morning, we would have taken our breakfast and used the outside seating area. The continental breakfast offered a sufficient variety for those who enjoyed this type of breakfast. Check out was easy.

To be improved

The bed itself was not very comfortable and was relatively small. The outside car park is not secure, although it appears that there was once a sliding metal gate adding protection.

“Highly recommended hotel in a convenient location”
The best

Clean and comfortable room in a great location for a stopover en route from Southern Spain to the Bilbao ferry or even France. All necessary facilities and convenient safe parking right outside reception. Restaurant was good value and had a reasonable choice if meals for the daily menu or choose your own.

To be improved

For the price and taking everything into account, there were no real negatives worth mentioning.

“decent rooms, nothing special. close to the highway so good for a stopover during a roadtrip. town center is within walking distance if you want to go to a bar for a drink (there is also a bar downstairs in the hotel but it's not very cozy). · Cons: double bed is quite small, if you want some space it's better to book twin beds.”
