“An excellent hotel”
I don't think it was in the hotel's description, but there was an electric tea kettle in my room, which was a very welcome addition. The bed was simply excellent, probably the best one on this trip to Spain. The breakfast was exceptional, again probably the best breakfast of all among about a dozen hotels on this trip. Hands down, this is an excellent hotel. Also, the food in the hotel's restaurant was very good, better than in several places in the central city.
Everything was perfect.
“Good, but could be even better”
Great check in. Room ready early. Great location just around the corner from the train station, a 15 - 20 nice walk into the main historic centre. If you don’t like walking then you’re in luck as the no 21 & no33 stop right outside the door. Use 1 of these to take you to the cathedral stop then a short walk to another bus to take you straight to the Alhambra ticket office on the same bus ticket if you get your connection within the hour. Lovely buffet breakfast, though short staffed 1 morning. Had to ask twice for some cutlery. Note to hotel: a window cleaner wouldn’t go amiss. And you could make so much more of the sun terrace near the plunge pool & spa. Get rid of the fake grass in place of some nice tiles, invest in some nicer furniture, including sun beds with cushion, install a proper bar or maybe just a phone & waiter service and before you know it you’d have a popular well used area.
“Great experience”
Last minute reservation because we missed the last train out of Granada. Staff was great, emergency travel kit available in the room. Kudos to the bartender at the Gastrobar for creating a special drink to my particular taste buds ( mango passion fruit mojito with no mint and a splash of sprite).
“Sun loungers”
Hotel staff are good and helpful
The pool sun loungers are broken and have no mattresses
“Anyone can call a hotel 4 stars. Doesn’t mean it’s more than 1 star.”
There was a seat in reception.
4 stars but; no spoons in room just sticks, stinking hot room on entry. Hotel empty but couldn’t checkin 30 mins early. Super noisy rooms. Air con and light switches don’t work properly. Bed very uncomfortable.
“Convenient but a bit dated”
Location is ok. Staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful. Room size is good.
This hotel urgently needs a full renovation. Please renovate bathrooms and add more plugs and USB connections in the rooms (to charge mobiles!). Also, please change the lighting at the reception, try installing warm led lightbulbs for a more welcoming, homey look (it currently looks too cold and grey, a bit sad). Staff at the cafeteria/restaurant were unfriendly the last couple of times we stayed at this hotel. The bar looked a bit sad overall. Also, very surprisingly, they don’t serve you a “tapa” with your drink (beer/wine or refreshment) at the bar. That was shocking really, I was very disappointed. It must be the only bar in Granada where they don’t give you a tapa with your drink. Not even the super-basic olives or salted nuts? Please adjust that if you can. Try some music too Late at night advice, when the cafeteria is closed: Could you install a coffee vending machine at the reception so that travellers can have a quick cup of coffee or hot chocolate at night if they arrive or come back late? There are no tea facilities in the rooms, so please have an alternative option ready at the reception. It can get really cold late at night in the winter in Granada so it would be fantastic to be able to buy a hot drink from a vending machine at the reception before going to the room.
