Turquesa & Ambar Apartments Formentera

You need to take an extra taxi to a hotel in Ibiza to pay the tourist tax & sign a form to check in. The 6 Euro tourist tax has to be cash & the closest ATM to the hotel charges 5.99 Euros to withdraw money so I ended up paying double. The keys are in a lockbox at the apartment but I was told I need to collect the keys and check in at the hotel. Surely there is a way to do this closer to the apartment itself. The hotel is a 10min taxi to the ferry and taxis cannot wait at the hotel so you need to take your bags out and get another taxi.

The apartment is located in a luxurious complex of apartments but the cleaning thereof was far below expectations. Especially the locked glass door was very dirty and disgusting to having to touch it every time to get into the complex. The check in and out procedure is HIGHLY uncomfortable and requires extra transportation costs. Despite the property informs you about it in all forms (by email, by phone etc), so you are aware, it would definitely be better to have a local check in desk/ or someone who could meet you at the port/airport to handover the keys. Also, the reception is 24/7 available over the phone in Ibiza, but there is no person on location in Formentera so if anything happens on the island you don’t have direct availability of someone who can help. We were very acquainted with the island so this was not a problem but for someone who comes here for the first time it can be an issue. Last but not least, we stayed 10 days in the property and no cleaning was provided in between (if we wanted, we had to pay €30 extra). This was a bit of a downside. Luckily the apartment is equipped with washing machine and cleaning stuff so we did the cleaning and refreshing of the linen ourselves. But for the money spent for the stay we would have appreciated the cleaning in between like other similar properties on the island do offer at the same weekly price.
