Universal Hotel Lido Park & Spa

Booked a “Side Sea View” room long time in advance but was first given one with no view at all. After complaining, we were told the hotel was fully booked and we had to change rooms the next day—very inconvenient. The replacement room’s view was only slightly better, probably the second worst in the hotel. Reception even said that if we had emailed in advance requesting a specific room, we’d have gotten a nicer one. Apparently, unless you ask (or beg) in advance, you will get the worst room. Staff is in general friendly and hard working, though, but it doesn't make up for the way the reception tries to scam you.

tl;dr: Very nice and clean hotel; Great location at a beautiful beach; Amazing staff; Outstanding food; Pool water could be warmer About us: We are a family of four, wanting to spend one week of summer vacation with a beach, pool and nice local food. My wife and I have visited Paguera the year before already. Paguera: Just 30 mins away from Palma. Nice, small, touristy town with good infrastructure and a few nice restaurants. Hotel: Modern, clean, with good infrastructure (indoor & outdoor pools, wifi, bar, free fresh water, kids club, ...). Though not super spacious, our room was big enough for the four of us and the sleeping couch for our kids was okay. We had a nice, big terrace. Perfect for drying clothes and towels. A huge plus was the generous, diverse and quality-wise, really good food. We had half board and could really replace lunches with little snacks, because breakfast and dinner buffets were amazing - big shout-out for the food. Beach: We had access to the big main beach on the right and a smaller beach on the left. The smaller beach was less crowded and in general calmer than the main beach. The water was Cristal clear, the sand beach beautiful and waves just big enough for small kids to have fun - we loved it! Pool: The indoor and outdoor pool were great and highly frequented location after time in the salty sea water - a perfect location for swimming and diving games for our kids. However, thew water was pretty cool and even at close to 30 degrees Celsius, a bit too cold to spend longer time in them. A few degrees of water temperature would have increased our experience with the pools. All in all we had a really good time, would really recommend this hotel and hopefully visit it again in the future.

Overall a very pleasant experience. The location couldn’t be more beautiful. Nice and spacious room for a family of three with a teenager. Amazing breakfast and dinner. Always fresh food and a lot to choose from. The only issue at dinner is the water they serve you. The hotel provides you with free filtered tap water during the day, but you’re asked to pay €3,80 for 700ml at dinner time for the same water. I would have given it five out of five, but the minus point is for the pool area, it’s outdated and the sun-bed situation is unclear. You can pay for the sun bed, or they tell you that you can occupy it if it’s free. Unfortunately if somebody reserves it in the meantime you are asked to vacate it. It wasn’t a big problem for us because we’re beach people, but some of the other guests had some issues. Anyway we would definitely choose it again.

Everything was at the highest standards. Starting from an excelent breakfast, in both quality and variation, going to the rooms, very spacious, very clean, every day it was cleaned spotless, quality entertainment program every evening, amazing location, right next to the beach(you could use the hotel sun-beds and swim in the sea) and very close to lots and lots of great restaurants. The staff were very friendly, very professional and always helpful. We did not try the spa facilities, so we don’t have any feedback in that regard.
