“Great value for a private room & bathroom on the Camino del Norte.”

We stayed here while walking Camino del Norte in early June 2025. First night in Asturias province in the little town of Colombres. At Valbanera, we had reserved a private room with a private bathroom for 2 without a balcony. Corner room with windows on both walls, plenty of natural light, and shutters to keep the light out. Keyless entry - you get a code. Good location with a little supermarket across the street. Credential stamp and a coffee vending machine in the hallway. There was a basket with some treats to eat and water to drink, and bathroom with a basket of toiletries. Fold-out table/desk on the wall. Good windowsill space for putting down things, closet with good amount of shelves. Overall a great value for a private room and bathroom. In the town of Colombres - If you have a few spare hours, check out the museum of Indianos - a name for the Spaniards who left for the Americas to make their money there in the 19-20th centuries. We saw artist tiles around town with vignettes of the emigrant experience. Town has some impressive buildings/villas, built by the returning Indianos. Also it's in Asturias, so time for the apple sidre everywhere!

To be improved

Wifi was very spotty in the room. A mini-fridge would be nice. Another Euro-type open shower that leaves half of the bathroom floor all wet :-/
