Varandas Do Mar

Location was perfect. Alicia was available on Whats app and was very prompt in answering any of our questions. Apartment was beautiful and we will rebook.

This is a secure, high standard, modern apartment which looks exactly like the photographs. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. The bedrooms were adequate in size with the space in each bathroom optimised; both power showers worked perfectly. The aircon took a few minutes to work out but it engages when all the windowns locked; essential in hot July! The sunrises from the balcony every morning as you look towards Malaga were stunning. The balcony gives fantastic views of Carihuela, the promenade and the ferris wheel at Benalmadena. Along with the hypnotic sound of the waves, 24/7, it was very enjoyable spending many evenings watching the world go by. The outdoor furniture is functional and the seats comfortable. For us the location of the apartment is perhaps its greatest asset. It is literally a couple of minutes from the beach, Playa Rincon and a wide range of restaurants, supermarkets and shops (check out Granier bakery on the promenade and Dona Gabriella’s Italian restaurant). Using the provided swipe card, it is simply a short walk, first to the lifts, followed by the elevator to the promenade. Playa Rincon is considerably quieter than other parts of Carihuela which we found more appealing and spent many days there. We would recommend purchasing a parasol from one of the nearby beach shops. The apartment also has a large swimming pool which some very attentive lifeguards who should be commended for not tolerating inconsiderate behaviour towards other pool users. The water temperature was just right and it was very relaxing spending time in the water and enjoying the breeze. There are sunbeds for hire at 3 euro per day. Alicia was a very good host, replying quickly on Whatsapp and was considerate in bringing some essentials to the apartment on our arrival. She was very pleasant and welcoming and took time to ensure when we had settled in. We had a very enjoyable stay at Varandas Do Mar and would highly recommend it.

Apartment was newly remodeled and clean with beautiful views. Host provided snacks, water, coffee pods and beer. Host was responsive via WhatsApp. We spent evenings before dinner having wine on the veranda overlooking Playa Rincón, the Alboran sea and the busy walkway below. The sunrise from the verandas is also spectacular! Playa Rincón is a quieter side of the touristy beach zone. Lots of restaurants, bars, gelaterias within walking distance. We loved the protected Cat Colony below the cliffs of the apartment.
