Villa Camp Gran by Sealand Villas

Unfortunately we couldn’t make use of any of the outdoor facilities due to extremely high levels of mosquitoes. By the end of our first day my husband and I were completely covered in bites, as was our 9 year old, who’s back was completely covered. When we contacted the rental company they explained that this was due to high levels of mosquitoes across the island and other than asking us to send some photos, left it at that. They offered no support or advice whatsoever nor did they provide any repellents or even visit the villa to check for themselves. From then on we spent an excessive amount of money on mosquito repellents and medical remedies, spent no time in the villa whatsoever and had to make sure the windows and doors were closed at all times. We noticed that the bites stopped over the next few days and thought it must be due to the repellents and medicine we had been using. We had a BBQ that evening and despite continuing with repellents, candles and sprays etc we were once again covered in bites. After chatting with other holiday makers and observing others when we were out and about no one had as many bites as us, which by this point was in excess of 20 each. We loved the villa and it’s beautiful surroundings and had planned on spending the majority of our trip there but sadly this was not the case. It turned into quite a stressful and expensive time and although the owner was lovely, the rental company were very poor. We would not recommend this villa during the warm months when mosquitoes are rife and are most disappointed in the lack of support or advice we received.

the road to the villa is very narrow, just drive slow and it fine. The only problem was mosquitoes but I think this happens in the whole area, there were a lot of them.

Mattresses could be of better quality, but still decent.
