The best

Location was just what we were looking for. Not too touristy and close enough to local bars and a little shop. We used the larger supermarkets twice (taxi as we didn’t hire a car) and then picked up necessities as needed. The neighbourhood was quiet and felt safe.

To be improved

The property was a good base however it is clearly in need of some maintenance and is not fully air conditioned, which we weren’t aware of from the description. There was a heat wave during our stay and one bedroom was unusable due to no air conditioning. The outside furniture did not have cushions and was not comfortable to use. The pool has many missing and loose tiles and could use a good clean - there were scum marks all around the water line and the pool edge had a nasty scent. The lounge was not really large enough for six to sit comfortably but we made do with the outdoor space and kitchen table (which was also wobbly and in need of maintenance). This could be a gorgeous villa with some updating. Following the end of our stay we were contacted regarding some damage (a broken plastic sun-bed and pool cleaning net) which we were not aware of. The net had been replaced one morning after we thought the net just needed pushing back into place. We were also sent pictures of some dried / dying plants which we were told we should have watered during our stay (although these were located in an area - an internal terrace - that we were asked not to go into upon checking in to the villa). This was not explained to us and had we known we could have watered them as we had watered the outside plants and vegetables throughout our stay.
