Villa Oasis de Asomada

On arrival, we were met by the owner, who was pleasant enough, however, he immediately informed us that one of the bathrooms in the 2 private villas on-site was unusable, this meant that the party staying in this villa had to use the other villa which was occupied with 4 people. I cannot express how uncomfortable it was trying to use the toilet at night. The owner failed to tell us that the kitchen sink in this villa was connected to the bathroom, which leaked and caused an horrendous smell. The kitchen in the main part of the house was so outdated, there were no markings to indicate the range of heat on the outdated hob; making it dangerous when on. The oven took approximately 30-minutes to heat up and was ill equipped, it was so old, I was concerned as to its safety. The décor was extremely outdated, the coach had a badly torn cover; which hid a very stained old piece of furniture. We found an enormous amount of rubbish stuffed under a set of bedroom drawers, obviously overlooked by the cleaners, suffice to say, the general cleanliness was woefully poor. We went to the supermarket to get cleaning products, as none were provided and to make matters worse, only 4 half used toilet rolls were provided for our party of 12. The location is remote, which made our 1st night uncomfortable as we arrived late evening. The bathroom had rusty towel rails, and dirty cleaning equipment and lacked general upkeep. The swimming pool was so dilapidated that my son, cut his foot on the loose tiles and the pool cover was torn. The bathroom situated by the pool had a continuous sewer type odour; not great when using the BBQ. The worst part of the property was finding a rodent in the utility area; shocking to say the least There are so many more things that fell short but I think you get the gist of the standard. The disparity between the on-line photos as opposed to what we experienced was huge. The only saving grace of this place was the view!!!!

There was a list of small issues which accumulated during our stay which unfortunately has reflected in our scoring but by no means can be simple fixes for the property managers to improve upon. - Not an issue but things that needs to be clarified for any readers, the villa is comprised of three separate ‘apartments’ (i.e. not interconnected/can only be accessed through their separate front doors). One is the main villa spanning two floors and then the other two are a floor below with one floor with separate kitchens/bathrooms/bedrooms etc. - It is also worth noting whilst they do state heated pools are 50€ per day during summer months, it should be clarified that we needed to notify them before our villa stay if we wanted it and that the heated pools has to be throughout our stay. Unfortunately this discouraged us from heating it from this experience during our stay. - One of the apartments had a very damp smell and therefore unfortunately we did not use that apartment. - The other apartment had a shower drainage problem which could not be fixed due to requiring major intervention and the recommendation was to continuously flush the toilet. - the main villa’s upstair shower did not work properly where the water partially spouted from both the tap and showerhead. - Some aircons were missing some remotes. - Our neighbours had clear views into our main villa’s groundfloor bathroom’s window making it awkward to shower. I would suggest having blinds for those windows and upstairs bathroom also requires one more blind. - Basic amenities would be nice i.e oil/salt/pepper for cooking and dishwasher tablets/detergent for the washing machines. The handwash soap was minimal for a group of 10 people with some being quite watery (i.e has been diluted). The amount of toilet paper and washing up liquid was a fair amount however we did buy more as we stayed for six nights.
