As a "Villa Plus" location with a higher cost we were quite surprised that there was absolutely no basics (washing up liquid, unused sponges/ clothes, salt & pepper etc that you often find accumulated in villas. We'd expected this and had not bought it when we went to the supermarket. The villa does have notices saying you'll be charged for any "rubbish" left behind but when the agent came we discussed this with him as we did not want to leave our purchased basics to be then charged for trying to help out future visitors - he said it was ok so we left our excess basics behind and weren't charged.

The biggest thing that prevented us from enjoying ourselves were plenty of mosquitos, literally 15 seconds outside in the garden were enough to get 7-8 bites, when there is such a big problem like this, minimum requirement for comfort is insect net for the house which was missing. Sleeping in those conditions were also not easy. The house itself is really outdated and when we arrived it seemed both interior and exterior were cleaned a long time ago, there were spider nets everywhere and there was an intense smell of urine in the upper floor bathroom. We found poor small gecko dead in the fireplace. The couch was so dirty it was uncomfortable to sit on it so we had to use bed blankets to cover it. It was impossible to close the window of ground floor shower so it was always full of mosquitos. Two days before our check-out we saw a man in our garden who was cleaning the filter of the pool, trespassing without asking was not acceptable. Pool was nice but it was not cleaned properly as we removed a big clump of hair before going in on the first day. We didn't read that there was timed air conditioner for energy saving, it was very uncomfortable if you plan to stay home during hot days, plus you can't even open the windows because hundreds of mosquitos fly in. Last thing, it was not an issue for us but if you have fear of geckos (small lizard) you better not sleep in the room with balcony because there is a gecko family that comes in at night from the hole on the wall near where air-conditioner is installed.

That cleaner came at 8:00 in the morning on departure day to start cleaning outside even though departure time wasn't until 10:00 - kids were wanting another dip in the pool which they were unable to do! The balcony was off the twin room - probably got more use from it if the rooms were switched round and it was the double. Bathroom and shower room could do with a makeover / updating
