“Amazing views and very spacious property”
The property is spacious and comfortable. Everywhere is clean. Great location in the village with amazing views
The oven didn’t work great
“One of the most unexpectedly delightful experiences.”
The location is excellent. It is in a central location of Alejero which is a mountain village on La Gomera. We thought the views were a stunning mix of coastal / sea views and mountainous terrain. The terrace is immense and would comfortably cater for twenty or thirty people. there are three main bedrooms so that amount of people shouldn't occur. We are a couple in our seventies and prefer peace and quiet with access to other parts of the island. Remember that Alajero is in the mountains and is 2/3 degrees cooler than down at coast level. on a hazy day the clouds can descend to join you, so be prepared for the experience. we stayed for 5 weeks throughout February and into March. It's handy to have a car, which we did, enabling us to have transfers and local excursions to hand; the longer the hire period, the cheaper it is. CICAR gave us excellent service from port of arrival and I'd recommend them. The island has upgraded its roads and every part of it can be reached in an hour ( one way ) The topography of La Gomera is stunning and memorably, hauntingly beautiful. Tourism is low key and eclectic. ( Tenerife it ain't). The local Spar is twenty feet from your main gate. There's no car park other than the road and is unintrusive to your privacy. The choice of goods is sufficient to get by comfortably but the next Spar in San Sebastian is 10 km. away and will offer a greater variety.. ** Be advised** The opening times are 'catholic' with each day being different and closed on Sunday ( check if you want to provision for the next day after arrival. Overall a gratifying experience which exceeded what we expected for a winter break. Anybody lucky enough to holiday here will be captivated and yet saddened to leave. A massive thank-you to our host, Roman. I think it self-evident that we both recommend this property and the island whole-heartedly.
Three more weeks and no English winter to grudgingly return.
“Alojera villa”
Spacious accomodation, well equipped kitchen, outdoor terrace, onsite parking, washing machine, Spar supermarket opposite, good base for walking. Hosts very responsive to any requests and queries.
“Beautiful spaceous house halfway up the mountain”
Great villa with ample space. Very clean, we liked it a lot. The owner provided a high chair and super comfortable baby cot. The kitchen has lots of amenities and we were very happy that we could use the laundry machine once after the misty weather. The (small) Spar supermarket is across the street. Very convenient.
The house was great for our family. Sometimes there was some noise inside the house from people making use of the basement/garage or the second floor. Our toddler was a bit scared and woke up a few times ;-)
“Very enjoyable few days in this large villa.”
Huge villa with all you need. 3 bedrooms (one en-suite). Very large terrace with lovely view down the valley. Good cooking facilities if you want to eat in. Spar supermarket right opposite. Air-con in lounge and bedrooms. Snack and small menu bar in square up the road or good restaurant on main road at edge of town 15 minutes walk away. Good Wi-Fi. Ideal villa for walkers as it is close to several great walks. The owner lives nearby in Playa Santiago and is helpful if there are any problems. Easy arrangements for arrival.
Please note: Having been to Alajero before we were aware of the temperature difference between Alajeró and the coast but new potential visitors should be aware that the town is about 800m up from sea level and therefore 3 or 4 degrees cooler. Nothing to dislike.
“Lovely villa - we would stay there again”
