“Peaceful !”
The peace & quiet & the pool
Blunt knifes & the plants could do with some attention, nothing else
“If only ...”
We really enjoyed our stay at this villa: it was spacious, it was well decorated and with lovely paintings, and it had a lovely pool and patio area.
When we arrived we found only 2 tiny bars of soap (the liquid soap disorders were empty), no shampoo, only ONE dishwasher tablet, and only one tea towel. So the first task the following day was to find a shop that sold these essential items. Of course, we had to buy 24 dishwasher tablets. Most of these we didn't use and we left them for the next guests (hoping that all but one wouldn't be whisked away as too generous!). Moreover there were no instructions on how to use the electric oven. With two unlabelled knobs each with pull out and rotation adjustment and a further button we had to use trial and error to get the cooker to work. We found out finally that if you pulled out the left hand knob, rotated the right knob and stood on your left leg, the cooker came on. Unless it was Wednesday when you had to stand on your right leg! We never saw the proprietor during our stay. There was no useful information on rubbish recycling, local shops and restaurants and local attractions. The property did seem a bit neglected. The outer gate that we were asked to lock when we went out wouldn't have resisted a gentle blow with my left little finger. And there was a hole in one bedroom ceiling stuffed with some white material hanging down. The adjacent plot of land was a building site though fortunately no work was being carried out there while we were there. Although the kitchen was fitted with a cooker, hob, microwave and dishwasher anything remotely resembling adventurous cooking would be a problem since free kitchen workspace was limited to about 18 inches. There was a rusting washing machine outside the kitchen door but it didn't seem to work.
