“Lovely house in Son Bou”

The best

The place is exactly what you see in the pictures, lovely view of the ocean from the terrace, great private pool, spacious enough living room and kitchen. We were traveling with a 2 year old and found it very comfortable for him - things like the stair gate and an actual bath tub instead of a regular shower were very appreciated and we were close to two or three playgrounds. We didn't rent a car and walked to the beach and restaurants, which does take like 20 minutes, so whilst it's not very comfortable it's feasible. But you can take a taxi on your way back (and up the hill) which will cost about 7 euros and takes less than 5 minutes.

To be improved

It's a minor thing but when I'm renting a house for one week at this price point I'd expect to have basic stuff at the house such as hand wash, dish detergent, a dish sponge, bin bags, olive oil and salt, etc. I find it quite annoying and a big waste to the planet and my wallet to buy all of those things only to use them for a few nights, particularly knowing they'll just throw them away and the next person will have to buy everything again.

the washing machine was outside and had to walk past overgrown bushes to get to it. also the garden was unkempt and coming back from the pool brought dirt into the villa

“Nice Villa with a lovey view”

The best

The views from the balcony were lovely and the Villa was not overlooked making it very private. Lounge was comfortable but not enough comfy seating if there were 6 people staying. The internet was very good if you needed it. Top marks for service as there was a problem with the toilet and shower but this was sorted straight away. Not too far to walk to the resort centre or the beach. The buses from resort to Mahon/Alaior were good. Nice resort if you want a great beach with enough bars/restaurants to have food and drink. Overall a lovely chilled out stay.

To be improved

The beds were uncomfortable and some bedding dirty. Cleanliness could be better as there was also dust in drawers. Outside the bedroom the grass was very worn making it dirty and muddy when wet. Could do with updating in the bathrooms and kitchen. Not enough storage space for food in the cupboards due to the amount of kitchen equipment.

“We had a lovely, relaxing stay in this pretty villa, the neighbourhood was noisier than expected.”

The best

The location is great, up on the hill in Son Bou with a wonderful view over the dunes to the sea. The property was neat and tidy, plenty of space, the balcony offers sun, shade and views over the garden and down to the sea. The pool was private and perfect for a refreshing swim - might be a bit small if there were 6 of you in it.

To be improved

A safety bar fitted on the balcony wall obscures the view when seated, which detracts from the main attraction of the property (this is clear in the property photos, so was expected). The property is semi-detached, it felt really private on the balcony and around the pool, but unfortunately the neighbours air conditioning unit for their living room is mounted on the wall next to our verandah and was very noisy whilst in operation. The surround of the pool was worn, needs stripping back and re-painting.
