VV Finca Jorsam Private Pool & Sea Views

We had a lovely completely quiet and relaxing week but in there are a few facts I think we should of been informed of in the property description, it may not have put us off but it would have reduced the initial disappointment, concerns over being asphyxiated and lack of being honest about the situation. The property is described as close to Bombilla and Nueva beach, we had planned to walk to these places especially Bombilla due to having a restaurant. It fails to mention Bombilla is still a security guarded prohibited zone due to carbon dioxide gas from the lava and Nueva is destroyed by lava, therefore there is nowhere to walk to due to the properties remoteness. More worrying is that there are still government signs attached to the property gates warning of asphyxiation due to CO2, if this is out of date please remove them. The nearby large town of Puerto Naos is also a prohibited no go security guarded zone. Once outside the perimeter wall of the property you are in a typical agricultural area, the narrow gravel tracks are bordered on both sides by very high breeze block walls so there are no views when driving in the area. Flies everywhere, this may be seasonal or all year around due to the plantations? but we decided it was better than mosquitoes and to be fair they are all over the island. For those who prefer a VERY firm bed you will be fine; however the waterproof mattress cover was uncomfortable and noisy, it would benefit from a soft washable mattress cover over it.

Access roads to the property are very bumpy and not paved which isn’t ideal in a hire car. The property is in the middle of banana plantations with no restaurants within walking distance. (La Bombilla and Puerto Naos have been closed since the 2021 volcanic eruption.) Fly screens are needed on all windows. Tiny black flies are a nuisance. The property would benefit from some modernisation, particularly the kitchen and bathroom.
