Welcome to your paradise at Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria!

Do yourself a favour and do not book this apartment. We, a group of four adults (two couples - one of which were pregnant), were chucked out on our second evening with no warning or notice, and the only explanation we were given was that we were ‘wild guests’ and ‘jumped the gate’ (for which the keys are ancient and do not work, by the way, leaving you no choice). We were chucked out via email, could not get hold of the hosts for further information or explanation, and when we called the ‘property management team’ as per the booklet left in the apartment they asked how we got their number as they were currently out celebrating their birthday and could not help, but agreed we were treated very unreasonably. To make matters worse, we left quietly and left the apartment just as we found it (this was not difficult given we had merely been there 24 hours, and luckily we took photos to back this up as given the hosts previous behaviour, we had a bad feeling about them), only to receive an email from booking.com on behalf of the hosts the next day requesting ‘5 - 10’ THOUSAND euros for ‘damages’! I am a solicitor myself and it’s needless to say that their claim did not go beyond that email once I refused to pay anything. We were completely appalled at their behaviour and treatment towards us but we managed to find alternative accommodation and keep our spirits high amongst us, however that could have easily ruined someone’s hard earned trip. It very much felt like we were being conned.
