Overall, reasonable value given the location and basic amenities.
Guests had a generally positive experience despite some issues.
Overall good, but some guests found the furnishings uncomfortable.
“Superb”
The rooftop terrace offered great views, we enjoyed breakfast there every morning. It had to be cleaned every morning, tho, because of the little birds. The stairs to the terrace might be a bit dangerous for toddlers (open stairs, no handrail), but we managed just fine with kids aged 2 and 7. Location was good, supermarket almost next door, quick access to bigger roads, plenty of parking space around the flat and walking distance to the church square for drinks, shopping and dinner. Lot of stairs and steep alleys, but totally worth it, even with kids. Only a couple of stairs where we had to carry the stroller (so don't bring a heavy one!)
“Great!!”
The location was great, the terrace at the top with a bbq was amazing. We are south american and was amazing to find a place with a barbecue to do proper barbecues not UK style. Overall the place was great. It was a bit weird for the ensuite room to have the toilet without a door but it didn’t bother us. To summarize: location, terrace, facilities
To be honest we were a bit concerned with all the comments but in reality the accommodation was great. We did not have any of the issues described in previous comments. We felt that the bedding could have a bit more, but it was very hot so it wasn’t an issue. A kitchen towel would be great also but apart from that, it was great. I have to mention though that the check in process is tedious and we were also asked to put another 200 eu deposit despite having paid the full price in advance. Apart from that, all good. A bit expensive though
“Exceptional”
Terrace was beautiful spacious was lovely
1 set of the keys didn't work properly but wasn't a big deal for us.
“Superb”
The terrace is amazing and the apartmenti is great. Location is also very good. We loved the the bucher shop across the street, and there is a nice market on tuseday nearby.
Parking around the house is next to impossible (end of october-begining of november). However, we found a parking lot next to the faculty which is only 5min of walking distance and for free.
“Bad”
Terrace
Only provided bed linen for 1 of the singles in twin room saying we only had booked for 2 people to stay. Didn't respond when we asked for more sheets. Towels thread bare and smell from drains. AVOID IF U WANT A NICE HOLIDAY
“Altea is gorgeous, historical, the apartment could be perfect!”
The location of this apartment is perfect, 10 mins down to the beach, 10 mins up to Altea old town. It is modern, clean, and has the most beautiful views out of the back windows and from the roof terrace, the terrace is fantastic. The large doors in the living room caught the afternoon sun, which flooded the main room with light and helped warm the living area as in January it was cold, especially at night. The living room doors opened onto a small balcony and it was nice to have these open during the day, despite the traffic. The guy that met us with the keys was extremely friendly and helped straight away when I asked for a kettle, one was delivered to me the next day. The apartment is on a main road and connected to other apartments, so of course expect some noise. My partner slept through it all, I however just wore earplugs at night which I have done when staying in other cities or busy areas. But not all was great, I hope the host resolves the niggles, it would make this property perfect!
It seems a shame to list the downsides as this is such a lovely property, but they need to be addressed. The shower head in the main bathroom was broken, and the toilet has a slight leak at the back, easy fixes. The main bedroom has an ensuite, you need a door between this and the bedroom and an extractor fan of some kind as you can smell the drains from the bedroom sometimes, not nice! The windows need curtains for privacy and in the winter to keep in the heat. It would also keep out some of the road noise. You can roll down the shutters in the bedrooms to keep out the light when sleeping but curtains would improve it so much more. There is a heater in the cupboard downstairs, but there needs to be more for the winter months, especially for the rooms without a/c. You need a few lamps, especially in the bedrooms, there wasn't one. The terrace has a table and chairs but the canopy needs some maintenance. These are not big jobs for the hosts and would make a huge difference to the quality of stay.
