Wonderful hotel - spotlessly clean - staff can't do enough for you - they are all so friendly and efficient. Reception so welcoming on arrival - we felt special guests. Breakfast was plentiful - so much choice - it was amazing - so clean. Chocolates were left in the room on arrival along with a drinks voucher - so thoughtful. Room spotless - great care taken with making it perfect. Rooftop pool with sunbeds great views - fluffy towels provided. Location central to popular attractions and shops. Just can't fault this hotel at all. Worth every penny - would recommend to anyone - give it a try you won't be disappointed - it's absolutely fantastic.

horrible trip really bad still waiting on a refund from valentines we got the suite for valentines said on there website they would decorate the room bring wine with chocolates we paid over 600 for a room worth 250 euro. when we arrived the receptionist did not have anything showed up on the system for all the extras we had paid for. bad from the start. my boyfriend thought the room was going to be with decorations for valentines and there was none. we wanted to leave from that moment they all hadnt a clue what they were doing. we ended up they have us a bad bottle of wine with no chocolates nothing. an absolute joke of a hotel leaving during the night as the whole experience of ended up being ruined my boyfriend had a bad stomach from stress of the whole thing and we had to leave. we left at 4am as we live in bcn we went home. the whole trip was ruined and honestly so dissapointing for spending tha much. and to make everything worse we were promised a refund that we never got. i used to work in a hotel and i must say the service was the worst to not even give a refund of the money is absolute crazy. do not stay here i would not reccomend the suite is also not worth the money horrible had scartches on the carpet not worth it at all.

Serious service failure – unacceptable for a 4-star hotel I purchased a Valentine’s Day package for €549 (tourist tax excluded) which included: • a suite • Valentine’s Day room decorations (€120) • dinner at the hotel • a bottle in the room with strawberries, chocolates and snacks Nothing was handled properly. Upon arrival, none of the package or extras were registered in their system. When we entered the suite, the room was completely undecorated: a paid service that was never provided, effectively cancelling the Valentine’s experience. After reporting the issue, no immediate solution was offered. Only after more than one hour was the bottle delivered to the room — without strawberries, without chocolates and without snacks, despite being clearly included and advertised. The dinner, priced at €140, was extremely basic and not proportional to the cost. Due to the overall disappointment, we checked out at 4:30 a.m. I have been living in Barcelona for 4 years and have never experienced such poor service, especially in hotels of this category. The hotel acknowledged their mistakes, but after around 20 days, they refunded only the €120 for the missing decorations, with no partial refund of the package, no voucher, and no meaningful compensation. Poor management, lack of organization, and complete disregard for the guest experience. Strongly not recommended.

I had a wonderful stay at Olivia Balmes Hotel and would highly recommend it. The hospitality was excellent — the staff were welcoming, attentive, and always helpful, which made the stay feel very comfortable and relaxed. The room was spacious, quiet, and very comfortable, with effective air conditioning that was much appreciated. Despite the hotel’s central location, the room was peaceful and allowed for a great night’s sleep. The location is excellent, making it easy to get around the city, and the breakfast was very good, with a nice variety and good quality options to start the day. Need to mention also the surprise birthday cake, which has gone beyond I had expected. Overall, a great hotel offering comfort, convenience, and genuine hospitality. I would happily stay here again.

We come to Barcelona as often as we can and over the last 10 years, we must have come to the Hotel Olivia Balmes about 8 times. It is in a fantastic location, close to everything. It's about 15 minutes' walk to Sagrada Familia, about 5 minutes to Passeig de Gracia, and a slow 20 minute walk to Old Town. Go to Boldu for breakfast. For men, there's a barber all of one block away, and for ladies, there's a lovely hair dresser just a bit further for that all-important blow out before a fancy dinner. There's food everywhere. This is the place to rest and the most ideal home base to explore this beautiful city.
