“We loved our stay”
We visited Madrid for 1st time and stayed at VP Plaza for 3 nights. Overall, a really enjoyable stay and location. Super warm welcome on arrival from all the team. We stayed in a Superior Room with amazing views over Plaza de Espana. Superb facilities and high standards of cleanliness. Breakfast in restaurant every morning - really enjoyable and very attentive service. Overall, we loved it and would highly recommend
“Excellent services ...”
My husband had forgotten his four shirts in the dressing room. We contacted the hotel reception. They took care of everything and sent the four shirts to our home address. We received the shirts the very next day. Thank you for taking such good care of us. We will definitely be back for another city trip.
“A great hotel”
From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. Maria check us in and was extremely helpful in telling us where to see the sites and suggested restaurants to us. We wanted a very quiet room and she found us a room that was extremely quiet. Maria deserves a shout out due to her exceptional customer service. The hotel is very modern with a great bathroom. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was really good too with a wide selection. Next time in Madrid we will certainly stay here.
“Comfortable modern stay”
Beautiful modern hotel. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was very comfortable. I particularly liked the wet room with the tub. Nice view of Plaza de Espana. Overall a very nice stay.
“The best hotel! 10/10!”
This Hotel is fantastic. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the kindest, most polite and attentive staff. Our room was beautiful , with a lovely view. Clean, big and spacious. The breakfast was delicious - lots of variety to make everyone happy. The location was amazing - close to all main attractions and 2 mins from gran via! The concierge organised our city and restaurant bookings as well as taxi transfers impeccably! No where else to stay in Madrid - We will definitely be back!
“Bad service for English speakers”
Overall the hotel is absolutely gorgeous with a great location and beautiful decor. The rooms were of a high standard and very cleanly. However, the service was mostly very poor. Particularly the restaurant staff, with the young female boss in the ponytail being incredibly rude. After conversing in Spanish fine she decided we were only to speak in English but she could not understand my party and I. This led to her getting confused and amending our booking. Instead of apologising she doubled down and had clearly told the rest of her team we were bad customers. We dealt with terrible service with the wait staff at restaurant standing laughing at us during a meal in the hotel. They were incredibly rude, pointing and laughing at us whilst we were eating. This was incredibly disappointing for a five star hotel. I would not expect this in McDonald’s never mind when you are paying thousands of pounds. Spanish guests were treated much better and some of the Spanish guests apologised to us that night on behalf of the wait staff as their rudeness was apparent to the entire rooftop. They acknowledged it appeared to be as we were not Spanish. The hotel manager was good the next day dealing with this and apologised on behalf of his staff which were new. However, it still leaves a bad taste from the holiday. Additionally, in the lobby bar I had asked for a glass of wine and not only did this take over half an hour so I cancelled the order but the barman was very rude. I tried to order in Spanish, he clearly thought my Spanish was poor in the way in which he reacted amused and demanded to speak in English. However, he could not converse in English so eventually we went back to Spanish to which he could understand. As a frequent traveller I am used to language barriers and there is always a way to get by. However, laughing at your guests trying to speak in your native language is not becoming of a five star hotel. The servers seemed very new and inexperienced. I would not return and would advise any non-Spanish speakers to avoid, despite the gorgeous hotel, due to the service.
